    Pros +

    • The crab and lobster is tucked away on the edges of marshes - serene, with amazingly tranquil views across the shoreline - compound that with chic rooms - amazing food and service - you will leave relaxed and will return !
    • Excellent location right by the area we wanted to walk in and adjoining the RSPB site. All staff very friendly and welcoming. Food very good and well presented.
    • Set in a very picturesque area on the edge of a nature reserve. The restaurant food is outstanding and the staff polite and friendly.

    Cons -

    • What’s not to love!
    • Lighting in the bedroom was only just adequate to read by - not everybody wants to watch tv - and I couldn't get my bedside light to work at all!
    • Not sure it’s a five star hotel. The room was very small and the bed and pillows rather too soft.

Excellent staff, very helpful, amazing food and a lovely property

The only issue experienced was the lack of WiFi in all areas of the building, especially on the upper levels in the bedrooms

We have stayed before and made it part of our journey from Kent to Bristol because we liked the food in the restaurant so much

    9JamesPosted on: 9-24-2025

Quiet location and easy parking. The food was excellent and staff friendly

Beautifully appointed with absolutely everything you might need. Top quality accommodation with comfortable beds and great quality products in bathrooms. The staff were all totally charming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a kind genuine attitude. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and all were great quality and enjoyable. Hospitality at its best.

Relaxed atmosphere, amazing food, attentive staff, adequate facilities

Crab cottage was wonderful, but the xpelair for the kitchen fumes was facing towards the doors and windows and the constant fan nightly was annoying, so unable to open the windows.

Charming well positioned gastro hotel on the edge of a wonderful serene nature reserve. The food was delicious with generous portions - staff were attentive and very welcoming. The accommodation was spotless and very well furnished with everything you could possibly need.

Choice of food and drink. Room also good standard.

Rather expensive compared to many four/five star hotels we have stayed but it is the south coast and it is summer. Cannot really see the Bay but there were binoculars in the room

Great room, with a separate seating area as well as a bed. Fresh flowers in the room. The hotel has parking, which is great. Seafood at dinner is excellent, and the restaurant is very good. Great location near the marshes, perfect for walking and bird watching.

Breakfast is set and could perhaps be more flexible.

Location - a lovely rural locationExcellent menu and top class cooking

No sitting room lounge with booksAbsence of safety grab bar in shower area - had to rely on side glass wall enclosure. No shelves for bath toiletries - had to pick them up up from floor during shower

Room was clean bright and cosy and staff were friendly and helpful. Location is a very quiet and pretty little village right by the edge of the bay. Food was excellent but expensive. Good for local walks or bike rides and birdlife on the mud flats.

More of a super-gastro pub than a hotel, the facilities are nice but limited.

Staff friendliness. Location. Luxurious rooms (Crab Cottage). Dining and breakfast first class

    10SuePosted on: 4-19-2025

Great location, super room, good dinner.

Disappointing breakfast it was "dry", good ingredients but not put together well. eg unbuttered toast under the diminutive piece of haddock.Main courses at dinner were excellent, but the fish soup & pudding were lacklustre.

    10HenryPosted on: 4-7-2025

super room with lovely views, very friendly staff, super dinner & lovely breakfast. wonderful walks from there too

    9JimPosted on: 1-17-2025

Lots of lovely little touches, friendly staff, excellent food

Pillow of slightly lumpy -but did not stop a good nights sleep

    9JeremyPosted on: 1-3-2025

Food is exceptional both dinner and breakfast. Rooms beautifully appointed and staff friendly and happy to help.

No chef available on first night so no dinner. Staff arranged for fresh sandwich selection to be available on arrival which was appreciated.

Ate here for Breakfast & Dinner & food excellent throughout, with the menu being varied enough to try a different meal each night of our stay.
