Pros +
- Beautiful scenery lovely staff, comfy room
- Location was good.
- The hotel is in a lovely peaceful area backing onto many walking trails through the Ouzel Valley park. The hotel is very comfortable, provides an excellent breakfast and the staff are very friendly and helpful. And welcoming.
Cons -
- We felt that the hotel was geared up for corporate events and that we were a nuisance at breakfast time.Breakfast finishes at 9.30 on weekdays. We arrived at 9.15 to find there was no milk, no hot water for tea.Very dated hotel.
- The bedroom decor is a little tired and out dated, but the bed was comfortable and everything was clean.
- Everything about the property was good. I just wish we weren’t put in a room between parents and their children. The kids were playing football outside my room in the evening and they keep knocking on each other’s doors at night and all morning. They were in rooms on either side of us, room 213 & 217. We were in room 215.

I like all the decor and rooms of the building

Lovely old property.Clean.Staff that we met were friendly.
Dining area wasn’t really inviting didn’t encourage you to book to eat there.Lack of plug sockets in the bedroom no USB sockets which would have been helpful.Bedside light wired into the wall which added to the lack of plug sockets. You had to have the main lights on to read as the bedside lights were so dim.
Great breakfast
Dinner and price of drinks
Staff where pleasant
Our room and the common parts of the hotels are jaded and needed decoration, looked very tired in comparison to the photographs - quite misleading The light to our On Suite did not work and would not turn of the light - Fan kept running so we had to turn the fan of by the isolating switch - Staff did attempt to fix it but a new light switch was not availableWhen we arrived we where told we could not have lunch at the hotel as there was a large meeting/convention (this should have been relayed to us before we arrived) At 6:00am on Sunday Morning some one decided to empty the bins and take the bottles out
Our room was lovely, we were upgraded to a deluxe room on request. The only slight negative was a lack of sockets. I use a sleep apneoa machine and need to have by the bed. Staff helped by finding us an extension leadwhich sloved the problem. The cleaning staff were excellent and prompt, our room was tidiedwhile we were at breakfast and cleaned when we went out for the day. Our young waiter in the restaurant and worked hard to please us. When we made a suggestion to him about cutlery,he listened carefully and said he would implement it in future.
We thought the menu was limited and a little pricey for what was essentially the "pub grub"
Cute hotel, Comfy cozy room, amazing amount of free parking space. Nice Restaurant
Very comfortable bed.Great Location.Great value for money.
Bathroom slightly dated.
Great staff
Kitchen closes early. Unable to order food if you arrive late.
Excellent food and service
Meal took a long time even though restaurant was quiet
Location and room were great.
Breakfast was poor and disorganisedStaff seemed unable to cope from finding booking onwards.
Clean and tidy
Lack of service in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast.
Staff at the reception were very nice, even though it took time to get checked in.He was graceful to let us know what was holding us up.
The room toilet was not flushing.shower was not hot and water pressure was bad.The room carpet was filthy, not sure when last it was cleaned.
The friendly staff on arrival. It was close to the area we wanted and the breakfast was good
The room got too hot had to sleep with the windows open.
Comfortable stay, staff were friendly, breakfast was good. Room was quiet, shower worked well, nice big bath towels and a warm towel rail in the bathroom, plenty of parking
Some elements of the room were a bit worn, the lampshade next to the bed was held on by sellotape
Lovely staff and comfortable stay.
Lack of vegan options
Friendly staff, dinner and breakfast was nice. Decor was nice and it was generally a very nice stay
The only thing I didn’t like was the soap/shower gel. It smelt dreadful and cheap. It was so bad I had to wash my hands with my shower gel from home as I couldn’t bear the cheap smell that lingered on my hands for ages
Nice quite place, afternoon tea is lush, would recommend. Bed comfy. Big bathroom. Plenty of parking. Would stay again but not have breakfast. It was our anniversary, they did the room up, it was nice, worth paying the extra.
Breakfast was a shamble, run out of good, had to wait awhile for more, no cups/plates etc, had to keep asking for spoon etc & we wasn't the only one. Also a dog was roaming around & took ham off the table & the owner didn't do anything. I do think dogs should be allow in food area. Breakfast is not worth the money.
