Riverside Hotel

Easy parking. Decent basic room.

No lift.

Staff excellent

Rooms had some wear and tear and could use touch ups.

The bar was closed both Friday and Saturday night and the food was average. The hotel is very tired and looks on its last legs

room was warm and clean with all the things you need coffee etcthe evening restaurant was good and the meals were excellent

breakfast was way over cooked burnt bacon and rubber eggs

The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was comfortable and was just what was needed for an overnight stop off for work. I didn't get the chance to check out the facilities and the restaurant but the bar was closed during our stay. Lots of parking available too.

The room wasn't thoroughly cleaned. When opening drawers and things, there was leftover hair from previous occupants and dirt. This was only really in the cupboards though. The rest of the room was cleaned with fresh sheets etc. The room also felt a little run down - marks here and there on the walls etc.

For the price it was acceptanle

When I booked the two double rooms I did so because it had a Indian restaurant on site also there was a lounge bar and restaurant bar on arrival we were told both were not open we were looking forward to a curry with a few pints so we had to go into town to eat and have a drink asked on the reception in the morning why the bars weren’t open the member of staff said the manager hadn’t informed them

Recently refurbished room, nice clean furniture & a nice clean new bathroom.

The mattress was very cheap & uncomfortable

2 single beds was pushed together to make a double but the beds was comfortable.

Convenient location for the event we were attending.

Bathroom light didn't work, cooked breakfast was additional cost (continental only included in our rate). Rooms clean and functional but whole hotel could do with a bit of a revamp.

Good value and very clean.

Unfortunately we arrived in the evening and we had booked 2 rooms but both bedroom windows were open on cold evening. The heating in the rooms was not very good and we were unable to warm the rooms. Staff brought up portable radiators to help warm the rooms but not really adequate.

Quite odd that there were no other guests staying on the night we stayed considering it's a large hotel in a good location.

This is a former Ramada hotel which is now under different management. It is old, sprawling, and very hard to find your way around - like a rabbit warren. The hotel is VERY basic (as you might expect for the price), but the decor is very old fashioned, the food offer is appalling, and the bar offers minimal choice. All the rooms are very close to a main bypass that is busy day and night and they are very noisy. There was no hot water in the room during my stay.
