Pros +
- I liked the building and the furniture inside. Very nice and spacious room with balcony and garden view.
- Elegant Room and lovely staff. Thank you for the complementary upgrades, Hotel was not busy so they were able to accommodate.
- Location is great for Blenheim Palace and for exploring the Cotswold. Rooms are really spacious and can be twin or double. Good choice at breakfast and nice bar area to sit in during the evenings.
Cons -
- Couldn’t work out how to get the overhead shower to work in both our rooms (ground floor and newly refurbished). The bar stops selling coffee /hot chocolate early in the evening.
- Food was ok but not great. Bathroom small (we had a deluxe room) you had to close the door to get to the toilet and the hotel is a bit tired in places. Nice bed but hard pillows. The lounge is set out for big groups - there are a couple of tables for 2 bit the chairs face into the room which was a bit odd.

Nice sized bedroom, comfortable bed, decent shower (lovely big towels).Reasonably price wine by the bottle, pleasant staff, easy car parking reasonable price.

It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Lovely room
Clean rooms, easy check-in/check-out process; decent bed and bathroom
The room felt a little tired
A comfortable stay with very friendly staff who were very helpful and made sure we were happy.
Breakfast unfortunately was not hot enough and overpriced.
Very comfortable, well appointed, good sized quiet room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Fish and Chips for dinner were exceptional, and the breakfast was good too. I particularly liked how quiet the room was - for a good night's sleep.
The reception area was being decorated so there was some disruption. I couldn't get a telephone signal in the hotel and it was pouring with rain outside. It would be nice to have some real ale in the bar as befits a countryside "Inn"
The staff were lovely, the rooms were comfortable.. We stayed 2 nights as booked a night with hotel separately.
The breakfast was cold, the tray the cups were on was dirty and all the pots were left on the table at breakfast. So if you had cereal and cooked breakfast nothing was cleared away. Some of the crockery was badly chipped too. The toilet seat in our room needs attention, I did mention this. They were renovating and we weren’t advised at point of booking. I was worried about my husband slipping as he isn’t firm on his feet.
Good size car park. It was very clean even though is getting done up.
Stopped serving food at 7.30, what's all that about. I drove 5.5hrs from one job to another and got there at 8.30 just to be told no food. There isn't anything in walking distance either, no takeaways allowed.
The location was perfect and the hotel was clean and beautifully decorated.
Not enough heating… the room was a little cold other than that it was a lovely room
Everything went well. The catering was good, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was impressive.
Friendly staff. Good location and lovely rooms.Good choice for breakfast.
Bedroom was a good size
Staff have no idea about customer service. No says hello when the see you in the hotel. Reception staff in the morning of check out didn’t speak, just looked at me, no good morning or how can I help. The reception area was being renovated with tradesmen everywhere but there was no apology for the inconvenience when we were trying to carry our luggage out and check out.
Helpful friendly staff Very welcoming Nice food and drinks 15 min drive to Bicester outlet
The location is good. The area is very quiet. The hotel maintains cleanliness.
Very friendly, smiley staff on reception&cleaner
Even though breakfast didn’t finish until 10 no more food was added when all was gone. Plain croissants ( non left) I asked the waitress for more and she brought me 2 on a plate to my table cheese (2 slices left) which I had but a lot of other people came into breakfast at quarter to.
Bed was comfortable, general design of room was good.
The staff in the evening was just oblivious and not friendly or helpful.Shower didn't work, had to use the little handheld one. Shower fan was obnoxiously loud and dust kept falling out.Windows had mold on them.TV was incredibly old (but, fine, I guess).Wall next to me had some sort of splashes on it, looks like someone threw up on it.Bathroom door was FULL of hand marks, it was disgusting. No water in room and when I went to ask, they told me to just use tab water or go buy some...
Great location friendly staff
Decor a bit tired but it is a very old building
Arrived very late staff excellent the guy on desk couldnt have helped more
Way out in country didnt realise little town beside us didnt know very nice but we didnt see it
