The Lismore Hotel

Car park right by room entrance.

Booked a twin, given a double. Told breakfast available, it wasnt. Receptionist intoxicated. Heating not adequate.

The receptionist was friendly

There was black mould, it was dirty and no heating in minus 6 degrees centigrade weather

Nice and conveniently placed for the town,very clean room and plenty of parking.

Hygiene and presentation is very poor. Smelly room (not aired), heavy smell of cigarette smoke, poor standard of presentation - the room looked and felt unclean.Did not expect to be in outer building, cold and noisy.

No breakfast facility, no staff available when we left to leave the key so had to leave key in room.

More just fair warning that if you’re on the top floor it’s a kooky staircase so be careful!

I liked the separate room and out of the main hotel. It meant I could park my car right outside my room which was a bonus. Although I did get a note on the windscreen saying it was safe from Ali. Nice little touch, juts glad it didn't set the alarm off. but over all it was a good stop over

Think there was a smoker next door, they were up at 7am having a fag and coughing. Ideally could have done with them being another door down or something rather on top of each other .....

Location. Easy to get to and private parking.

Beds where hard, staff was hard to understand and gave zero details on the property.

Kept awake all night by what sounds like the boiler firing up for 15 minutes every half hour. No one to mention this too during the night nor in the morning when we checked out at 9.30. Emailed the hotel to complain but they did not reply. Also no bar or restaurant as had been advertised.

Just dated basic. No frills.

The receptionist when we arrived was very rude & shouted at us several times! She even shouted at the manager who had come to help!

Nothing much to like. No breakfast, very small room, noisy car park, Roomsleading directly onto car park.

What was advertised as a double room was nine foot square withlittle or no room to move about in or even get in and out of bed!

The property was in a good location and was clean

Unfortunately when we arrived back late in the evening the lock on our door did not function, it’s a night latch style lock and the key would not turn in the cylinder. I am a locksmith by trade so I know about the subject. When we got in we called the help like on the counter and had a gentleman come out from near the lobby with some tools, whilst he was trying to open the door for us a woman appeared speaking poor English shouting that we had broken the lock and she told the others in my group not to lock it. For those with knowledge on locks you can not set a dead lock on a night latch and close the door it is simply not how the lock works but anyway after the two of them had an exchange we asked if this could be sorted in the morning and if they had another room we could use and the woman immediately said she would charge us. After a short argument between us and the woman the gentleman who was still trying to open the door offered us another room and shortly after got into our initial room so we could get our stuff. I can not fault the gentleman he helped us even if he did try and say that the issue had never happened before bar the fact there was a huge hole in the door frame where he had obviously had to do the same thing before.

Room was clean and although only a small single room had a large bathroom.and a power shower

Very squeaky bed. But only there for one night and clean so, served its purpose.
