Holiday Inn Express Wakefield By IHG

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in .. the place needs demolished.. how have IHG the owners of holiday inn let things get this bad ?! .. no idea how it has 4 starts .. and don’t know how people are saying the breakfast was great ..it was decidedly average.

As the breakfast was included in the price, I thought it was good value. Very busy the weekend and the poor staff found it hard to keep up.. ie getting clean cutlery and mugs back into the dining area.

The staff were very helpful.

This is a note to Management : You need to get more cutlery, mugs and plates. If your hotel is busy as it was at the weekend then it is NOT the staff's fault if customers have to wait for these to come out of the dishwasher. A lot more of these items would help enormously and if we hadn't had to wait then I would have scored you Excellent !!

Lovely stay for the Rhubarb Festival! Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and comfortable room. Much bigger than expected actually. Stayed in room 510. Exceptionally comfy bed. Perfect location in the centre of Wakefield.

Staff were really helpful .The room was very clean and comfortable Plenty of towels in bathroom Breakfast was very good and again staff were excellent clearing tables and ensuring everything was filled up .Nothing was too much trouble

Bed was rather low but that was a minor fault

Great location, friendly staff, clean spacious room, everything I wanted at an excellent price. Parking options seem confusing but a multi story parking is next door and very reasonable

The bar has limited beer options, Guinness seems permanently out of stock.

The location to town was excellent and the staff super friendly and helpful.

Friendly and welcoming staff who were helpful and accommodating. Room was spacious and well equipped with good facilities. Excellent location close to the railway station and centre of town.

Could hear the elevator all night and the shower wouldn't drain properly but was still a great night

Air-conditioning for heating no good. Combined toilet bidet needed for cleanliness. Can't see lift position on higher floors. Can be waiting ages
