    • Fabulous experience , friendly staff ,spa facilities wonderful, especially the rooftop swimming pool , food very good, thank you we loved our stay

    Cons -

    • The bar and spa was lacking atmosphere. Some background music would certainly help (especially the bar area). The spa facilities were great though.
    • didn’t really understand the £10 tray charge for room service and we could only order sandwiches as the kitchen had closed, menu says available after 9pm?
    • Everything about our stay lovely & clean

Manager who checked us in was lovely. The bed and pillows were super soft and comfortable and the three pools in the spa warm and inviting.

Staff in the spa were not helpful. The area around the cafe smelt of dirty fat and the aroma room smelt of feet. Two tellys in our room. One didn’t work unless you had a Samsung account and the other only had the basic channels. When anyone walked past the room in the corridor it vibrated through the bed. Definitely was not worth the £650 we paid for one night.

The room . The spa the locatioon

Only that some of the toiletries were missing and I had to request on leaving

Beautiful Grade 1 building with good room size and adequate bathroom. Great powerful shower! Valet parking worked really well.Breakfast excellent and staff very friendly and attentive.

Due to it being a Grade 1 windows single glazed and little cold. However difficult to remedy that.

Staff were friendly and helpfulBeds very comfortable Spa really good

No facilities that we could see for drying swimwear after using the spaNo hooks for hanging coats or drying coats (it rained a lot during our visit)I think 30.00 per day parking is excessive considering the price of the roomsNowhere in the room for a hairdryer to be used comfortably

    Location

Shower door broke and fell onto my partner, I told receptionist on check out but she wasn’t that interested. Breakfast was good but had the wait for staff , had to wait for bread and plates

The spa and the room were excellent

The food is incredibly expensive. £18 for a basic sandwich in the bar. £20 for sausage and mash. Crazy prices imo

First class resort, ideal for a break in gloomy February. The Spa is spotlessly clean and well-maintained and the treatments are excellent. Impossible to fault the accommodation, and recommend using valet parking (£30 per day extra, but worth it). Food is standard British fare, with several more exotic restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Buxton is a jewel and well worth a visit - in our case, a return.

Amazing food amazing staff amazing facilities

    7SarahPosted on: 2-11-2026

Location is perfect. Staff in Darwin Bar & at breakfast very welcoming, breakfast was tasty & well presented. Spa area is spacious & excellent facilities.

No on site parking. We booked a Queen Room, room was very small, standard double bed only. Room felt even smaller as in the attic & sloping ceiling joists, also a very large desk & chair immediately on entering the room.

Really lovley decorated and smart . Spacious and clean

The pillows in the room where too soft and had a neck ache the next day

    9PhoebePosted on: 2-11-2026

The variety of spa rooms, saunas, pools. The room was lovely, very spacious and clean

Breakfast staff was not cleaning tables, had to ask for plates to be taken away. The spa facilities were slightly confusing with the rooms, didn’t know if you had to pay for certain rooms that had doors shut or if it was first come first serve (they had do not disturb on door but people were in and out)
