    • Great location, lovely authentic place & staff were excellent.

    Cons -

    • Bar and restaurant closed
    • There was no shower curtain so it was a bit awkward to shower standing up and not flood the place
    • Accommodation was fair but is a pub but the bar wasn’t open. Had a couple of hours to kill before the taxi arrived and had to spend it in our room. Not good.

Breakfast was lovely, but at the moment they aren't opening the bar so there is no evening place to sit around. There is a club over the road instead that is very welcoming.

There was no shower curtain so it was a bit awkward to shower standing up and not flood the place

The location was good and the room was very comfortable.

I was informed after booking that no food/drink facilities were available on site, but still paid the same amount. Breakfast was kindly provided to take away but I had to order food in for the evening and there were no glasses or cutlery available. Also, there was no heating on when I arrived and I had to stand outside in the rain waiting for check in. I appreciate there were staff shortages but this should have been made clearer and costs adjusted.

Location was where I needed to be. Welcome was friendly. Sign on door was helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Staff member showed me the plug in heater as central heating wasn't really working. Breakfast was adequate.

It was difficult to find. This was because I was not aware prior to arriving that the pub and restaurant were closed. So I was looking for a building operating as a pub, and missed it as the lights in the front rooms of the pub were not on. Fortunately I did not require dinner, but would have been disappointed if I had, as there was nothing else nearby. The bathroom was clean, but was a bath with a shower attachment, rather than a stand-up shower (either alone or over a bath). I did not use it as I have mobility issues which mean getting in and out of a bath isn't really safe, so I rely on showering standing up.

The room was lovely, a converted stable block with beautiful high ceiling and open beams. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast plentiful with excellent quality food and well presented. A great location for Castle Combe Circuit.

Sadly the restaurant and bar were not open other than for breakfast. We hope the owner recovers her health sufficiently to re-open these in the near future.

The room was nice clean and warm .bed was comfortable.

Things were not made clear at booking ,I was informed very close to my trip that there was no restaurant and only informed that the bar was closed when we arrived..I booked it because it was a pub .it spoilt our plans.if I'd have been properly informed I would have booked elsewhere..it was sneaky .the kitchen is very dirty so I forfeited my paid for breakfast .£90 for one person for a night is not value for money when it was £ 100 for 2 people.not happy .

Great location in picturesque village. Room was ok but facilities basic. Breakfast was good quality.

Pub was closed which was not communicated at time of booking. We would not have booked if we had known. There was very little choice but to sign in at the club over the road for fish and chip special or drive even further out of town. We appreciate the health issues communicated to us on arrival but the rooms should be marketed as b&b only to avoid disappointment.

    10StevePosted on: 10-15-2025

We received a warm welcome and the room was spotless with a comfortable bed.Staff provided us with cutlery and plates for our takeaway as the pub itself is currently closed.Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful.

Dining options are few and far between within walking distance. Hopefully the pub will be in a position to reopen in the near future.

Lovely little pub in a countryside village near Bath. The room was clean, staff were lovely and there was a delicious breakfast.

    7RegPosted on: 10-6-2025

Breakfast was good, the room was clean and tidy.

Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were closed meaning I had to find somewhere for an evening meal.

    3JohnPosted on: 10-5-2025

It was clean but very basic , reasonable breakfast not a lot going for the price Pub has shut down

Basic coffee in a paper mug and plastic cup, no water or biscuits, mattress and bed poor wish we stayed at a premier inn instead of here .
