- Evening restaurant staff need training way to long of wait for service and foodOana a gem and so competent. Rooms were cold in house despite there being fireplaces that were-not tended
- The location is nice once on site, getting there up a steep hill with a hedge row very tall caution must be had as you might miss the entrance.Parking as I said is very limited when events are taking place at the hotel. The bathroom is very simple and small, old partial glass door on tub for use while showering very tight for bigger humans. Bathrooms could use updating.

Road down the hill a bit interesting
The location, the property, some of the staff excellent (lady serving breakfast, lady who showed us to our room). The food in the restaurant was excellent.
Some of restaurant staff in evening & on reception needed to be ‘sharper’
Fantastic hotel in the Cotswolds. Just what we wanted in a lovely location. The breakfast was great and the chefs were very accommodating to us being vegan. Spa facilities were good, however I don't think we realised that the pool was unheated till we got there!
Honestly nothing, it was just what we wanted for a weekend in the countryside.
Building is beautiful. Room was fantastic. Choices on furniture and decoration were very good.Staff were all very friendly. The food at the hotel was excellent, including the breakfast and dinner. The dining room is a beautiful wood-panelled room with lovely views over the local area. Very romantic in the evening.
Very little to NOT like.
It’s a hidden gem! So beautiful and serene. The staff were all so sweet and kind and welcoming. Absolutely loved it! Glad I discovered the place by accident. The food it very delicious too with most of the produce home grown within the compound/
Exceptionally warm, friendly welcome from the staff, manor house provides lots of olde worlde charm, outstanding dinner and breakfast, stunning view.
Comfortable room, excellent dinner - try the apple parfait. The hotel is in a very quiet location. Nearest village is Minchinhampton which has lovely cafes, but you need to drive to Nailsworth for dinner.
Loved how kind all the staff were, the breakfast was incredible and the rooms were nice and cozy.
Beautiful hotel with lovely windows, decor and gorgeous views. Our room was comfortable and quiet and had wonderful views over the countryside. Bar and lounge areas were charming. Breakfast was delicious. All at a very reasonable price. I hope we will be back!
Was generally a cute stay (instead of a luxurious one when we judged from the pictures!) Nice dinner and breakfast, excellent service, good view from the room, nice long walk around the hotel, beautiful sunset when you get lucky with the weather
We went in a winter day and all outdoor facilities were covered or put away, we were still able to use the jacuzzi but it didn’t feel that welcoming when you have everything looked closed, we were still 5 rooms of guests that day but just felt the service/ maintaining were not there during winter
The location, the interior of the main house, the sauna and staff were very nice.
We booked on booking.com, were „upgraded“ to a larger room, but in the coach house where windows were directly facing the parking lot such that there was no view from our room at all. The dinner was great, good quality and well prepared. The breakfast however was the worst I have ever had. We had eggs Benedict and Full English Breakfast - with eggs, toast and bacon completely overdone. Every guest this morning was shocked from this experience. I gave this feedback to the Hotel Manager already - this hotel needs to do a bit of work to be worth its money. The value for money on our stay didn’t feel right and in the current state I would not recommend my friends going here! Hope this will change things up for upcoming guests!
Nothing really ….
We are very disappointed with our stay which we were looking forward to. It was completely different from what we hoped for and was advertised. I cannot believe where all these good reviews come from.. First of all, our room was very cold and smelled disgustingly musty. It was not cleaned properly (there were brown stains on the bathtub). There was practically no pressure under the shower. The bathroom was in general very run down and desperately needed refurbishing. We didn’t want to stay in this room to the point we considered going back home or book some place else but since it was already very late we decided to stay the night. In the morning we made a complaint and got another room which was a bit better - warm and not smelly at least. Unfortunately, the next morning there was no hot (not even warm) water whatsoever. The staff was completely not helpful and unresponsive.
Friendly staff, lovely food. Loved the location. Really nice open fires.
Bed was really hard, so not best night sleep.
Delightful welcome from very interesting lady at reception. Beautiful bedroom (lovely garden view), restaurant, lounge, bar etc. Astonishingly delicious, artistic evening meal - certainly Michelin standard, with excellent attentive service. Charming, cosy furnishings, wall art, etc. Welcome warmth throughout the hotel on a cold day. Sauna terrific (more lights please). Overall: excellent standards, very carefully thought through but with a light touch & consistently managed. Could hardly have been better. Thank you so much
A lovely hotel with country house vibes. Very comforting & welcomingBreakfast good with excellent staffLooking forward to visiting again in the summer
Well decorated and nicely appointed.
Poor wine selection, they had run out of medium priced options, and when the suggested alternative was opened it was off and it was a hassle getting them to change it. Starters not brilliant but mains good. Excellent breakfast.
Old country style with lots of character
Slightly tired in places, could do with re decorating, that said due to the style it did work
Tranquility, viewsFriendly staff
