- Lovely warm welcome. Super comfy bed and excellent breakfast.
- Breakfast was amazing . Staff were excellent Location superb .dog friendly
- The food was very good. Breakfast each morning was fresh and well cooked, with a lot of options. You could have a full English breakfast or a lighter version which was still substantial.

- Room a bit shabby. stains on chair and carpet . heater not working in the bathroom .
- Where do I start? Out of three nights, we only had heat on one night and that was after asking staff to turn it on. It would come on for an hour, then shut off. It was nearing the end of September and nighttime temps were approaching freezing and we were constantly cold in our room. There was a lounge in the main house where we could have sat in the evenings but the outside door was kept open so it was even colder in there. We were in the garden cottage, with such a narrow staircase that it was incredibly difficult to get our bags up and down the stairs. As seniors, we were not impressed. The bathroom had a lot of mould. There was no shower, just a hose attached to the tub faucet. When I asked about it, I was told that “ all the rooms are like this “, which differed from what is claimed on the website. The ceiling over the bathtub was slanted so you couldn’t even stand up while trying to use the hose to shower. I booked far in advance and when reading reviews from the months after I booked, there were many complaints about the rooms. The pub owner had responded to some, saying (1) we are a pub with rooms, not a boutique hotel and (2) we are renovating the rooms on a rolling basis. My response to those answers is (1) it’s advertised on the website to “unlock your dream stay…. Have a relaxing getaway or a romantic break.” Doesn’t sound like a pub with rooms, does it? (2) There must have been other classic double rooms available, given how many other tables were used during the breakfast period (never more than 3 other tables) so why couldn’t we have been given a room that was more upgraded? Was it, perhaps, because we booked with a third party instead of booking direct? I’ll never know because I won’t be back.

The location was good for what I needed.
The burger wasn't great to be honest. Presentation a tad poor also
Location was perfect, breakfast was great, staff were friendly. Nice old Inn refurbished to meet today's needs. Ideal location near Minchinhampton Common. Would stay there again.
Housekeeping wasn't up to par. We stayed 4 days and our bed and tea/coffee tray were done once upon request. Rest was fine.
Nice old stile location, typical of the English countryside. Very good breakfast with two choices of English breakfast, one light and the other traditional, with the addition of a small buffet for the continental.Nice little garden. Flexibility and courtesy of the staff.
The line from a original vintage stile to a too old to be renewed is like like a razor blade. The location need a deep restructuring, preserving its old stile originality.During our three-night stay, the rooms were never made up.
Room was huge with lovely view of the valley. Service was impeccable and meals pleasant (though a tiny bit too hushed in the old formal space). Perhaps a little light background music would give more conversation privacy to guests.
Perhaps a little light background music with dinner would give more conversation privacy to guests. Access also was difficult as a bit too far from the station to comfortably walk with luggage. This was on top of us spending the previous night mistakenly at another "Amberley" in Sussex not Stroud!
A lovely stay, friendly staff, gorgeous room and delicious food.
Staff were amazing, dinner was lovely Stunning location
Room very basic Bed uncomfortable Lots of bettles in my room Place need investment
Very pretty village and a great location overlooking great views. We were upgraded to a great suite near to the garden, which was wonderful as we travelled with 2 dogs. It was very relaxing and the staff were very accommodating. We were allowed to keep our dogs with us while we had our meals. The food was great and the portions extremely generous.
The stone wall in the bedroom was producing sand onto the bedside table. The hot tap in the bathroom wouldn’t stop running.
Ok...it's an old building and not 5 star luxury, but generally rooms are lovely. This time I was upgraded to a large front room with the magnificent view, though you will hear the cars as well as the birdsong (road is not really busy). Very comfortable bed.Very clean.Good facilities.Price is excellent.Staff are lovely.Wifi was good enough for Teams meeting. It's very dog friendly.Gf food options are fantastic (I'm Coeliac). Excellent location.Great access to the Commons and local towns.I absolutely love this place.
Could do with more vegetarian options. Some idiosyncrasies with the plumbing and bathroom not modern, but wasn't bothered due to the price.
Good breakfast, friendly staff, good location.
Food, staff, situation, beds and pillows
Room up 2flights stairs steep, only hand held shower And we are in our80s.
Excellent catering and beautiful setting.
The road outside can get busy and the stairs to our room were extremely steep.
Location is nice
Not worth the price. The room was very small and there were lots of flies, which made the stay uncomfortable. Breakfast was disappointing—very limited options and not filling at all. Overall, felt overpriced for what was offered
Location was nice. Staff pleasant, food good.
We had a ‘premier’ suite in the Garden Cottage. Very tired, not the cleanest, lots of flies greeted us, shower doesn’t fit the holder, loo seat the wrong shape so looks poor.
Characterful property, friendly staff, great breakfast and dinner, lovely village. Comfortable and spacious room.
Nothing to dislike, although the age of the building means steep, narrow stairs in garden annexe building (we were in room 24 on 2nd floor). Guests with mobility issues might want to check room location when booking.
God locationAnd comfy bed
Room coldCould here next door so up till lateCan’t get wifi in room which was important as there for workCan’t stand up in shower due to sloping roofLuke warm reception Stairs very steep with bags
Gorgeous location,lovely building,great sized rooms.
Very warm and couldn’t turn radiator off
The property is convenient and easy to travel to and from. Our room was clean and comfortable, nice breakfast and friendly staff.
