Egypt Mill Hotel and Restaurant

The location was lovely just on the edge of the town .The room was wonderful and warm and clean really enjoyed breakfast .

Everything was fabulous. Great location, beautiful hotel surroundings, superb room & facilities. The bar and restaurant areas were lovely, and the food was delicious. We have highly recommended Egypt Mill Hotel to all of our friends and family and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful hotel with the most gorgeous rooms. Super comfy bed, lovely bathroom (with the best shower we’ve ever had in a hotel). The restaurant itself is really nice and feels warm and homely. Great breakfast.

Nothing, we just wish the weather was better so we could have enjoyed the pub garden which looked amazing!

Staying in a place with great history was very unique. The ambience is great and a scenic building by the river. Rooms were comfortable and bathroom clean and working. It was a good base for exploring the cotswolds without the crowds found in other locations. The majority of staff were very helpful and friendly and food was pretty good quality.

Overall we did enjoy our stay but had some bad luck in the restaurant. Service was a little slow the first night but otherwise friendly and no issues. 1st breakfast also great. However our 2nd dinner once sat, we were left waiting at the table for a very long time. People on other tables were in similar positions with no staff coming to our area. The staff in the other area of the restaurant were busy and avoided eye contact trying to get attention. The table next to us ended up getting drinks at the bar. When eventually served, we ordered everything at once, and the wait on food was fine. It then also took a long time to have plates cleared and get the bill. It was busy in the restaurant in fairness to the staff. At 2nd breakfast, it also took a long time to take order - we then were sat about half an hour waiting on some eggs and a traditional breakfast despite it not being busy and people arriving after getting their food before eventually managing to query if there was an issue, with check out time approaching. It turned out the kitchen hadn't got the order. At that point the restaurant staff were very helpful in pushing the order through and arranging a later checkout, also being apologetic which was appreciated. Overall, it didn't affect our stay which was enjoyable, just the very slow service at times is the only thing dropping the rating but these things happen.

Fabulous hotel set on a plot of an old water mill. Restaurant was superb, lots of veggie and vegan choices. Great breakfast too and excellent wine list. The staff were amazing, really friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, we stayed in the annexe overlooking the mill and woke up to the sound of the water. The bathroom had a great shower and the room was cleaned daily, with fresh bottled water and milk delivered. We did two amazing circular walks from Nailsworth and enjoyed the surrounding countryside and villages. We ate in a local restaurant Amalfi one night and that was fabulous. Lovely food and great staff.

The main bar area did not have much comfy seating, just one sofa and 2 armchairs. The other seats were high bar stools. If possible, a few more armchairs and little tables would be nice for more seating options. It wasn’t a problem, just noticeable on one evening when the restaurant was particularly busy.

The room was amazing, the food in the evening was delicious.

They didn’t take cash which we didn’t know before we arrived.The bacon on the breakfast was kept warm and it had dried out.

Such a beautiful setting, alongside the river. The old mill buildings have been very tastefully restored and decorated, would highly recommend. We only had one night here but had a lovely stay, oj our way to north Wales.

Our room was lovely with a large comfortable bed and luxurious bedding. We received a home baked cookie on arrival and there was a nespresso machine. Our meal was also delicious.

It was a lovely old property with loads of character, the room was large and the bed huge and very comfortable. There was plenty of teas and coffee in the room and freshly made cookies. Breakfast was brilliant with plenty of choice.

USB sockets in the bedroom would be good

The room was beautiful. Breakfast and dinner service staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Annoying automatic light that came on when you went into the bathroom (not helpful in the night) and went off while you were still in the bathroom!

Staff very attentive, great service, food good, location good, room good. Would recommend

The customer service was outstanding. Front of house staff knowledgeable regarding the menu, polite and efficient. Food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast and catered well for vegetarians. Room was clean, comfortable and full of character.

We had a lovely stay here, just for 1 night but everything was perfect, from the warm welcome to the fabulous room and the excellent service at dinner and breakfast. We were very well looked after throughout.

The hotel was beautiful, value for money, great food and drinks and people were lovely! Would definitely return!

The room was very hot on the first night, we had to turn the radiator off in the hall outside our room. It was better the second night but still very warm for a cold winter eve.

Absolutely everything about Egypt Mill and Hotel.. The cleanliness was above and beyond, as were all members of staff.. The food was delicious, surroundings are amazing..

The staff were simply exceptional, tending to small details like offering a fresh draw with a drink and ensuring that we always had everything we wanted to hand. Even made me a special breakfast that I came up with on the spot.
