About
This 17th-century Manor House is in stunning grounds overlooking Stroud Water Canal and the hills of the Stroud Valley. It has an award-winning restaurant, and routes for cycling and walking. Stonehouse Court Hotel offers bistro-style lunches and à la carte dinners in Court Brasserie. The restaurant serves modern fresh, contemporary, British cuisine. The 6 acres of grounds include attractive gardens and lawns for a peaceful stroll or croquet. Walk from the gardens to the canal and the countryside beyond. Stonehouse Court is well located for the Cotswold Way, and the chefs can create a packed lunch if you wish to spend the day exploring. Some bedrooms are in the manor house and others are in the Garden Wing. All are bright, modern, and many have views over St Cyr's Church and the hotel's gardens.

Pros +
- The property was lovely, the food was excellent.
- Breakfast was ok. Room not too bad.
- Beautiful property, well situated for activities in Stroud and surrounds, helpful staff, excellent breakfast, & spacious suite with bathtub
Cons -
- The bed was so hard the floor was softer to sleep on. We couldn’t stay a second night as we had no sleep.
- We asked for a room on the ground floor due to bringing heavy tenpin bowling balls with us. Told the room was just down the stairs by reception, but no down the stairs round the corner down more stairs and it went on. If we knew we wouldn’t have booked. Reception staff didnt tell us the truth re the stairs. Was horrendous carrying the ball 100 pound weight of them. Then having to carry them up the stairs when we left!
- We had issues with general room temperature & hot water in our room problems. The room temperature was resolved in good time, but sadly the hot water was an issue throughout our overnight stay. Food was ok, but not as good as I expected given the surroundings. Although the restaurant was incredibly busy both evening and for breakfast. Upon my bringing to the managements knowledge our issues, the management team were very responsive to our problems Indeed they rectified the situation to the point we are satisfied with the issue now. I have to highlight that although the general hotel staff appear on the young side, their dress attire, general availability, and their attendance in making you feel very welcome was second to none.I do feel that the non-obligatory statement on the restaurant menus for dinner and breakfast, stating that 10% will be cordially added, is rather ambiguous and looks rather poor given the stature of the premises and what it offers. If the service is to the quality it effects to be, tips would be willingly added rather than the option for the clients opt to not pay the 10%. Something I’m particularly not a fan of.

The building and surrounding gardens were top level. It oozed quality.

Lovely room, very comfortable bed and bedding. Lovely bath. Dinner was excellent.Breakfast was ok, although my cooked choice had run out and the plates were cold.
As above.
Location and character are excellent. The room was also very good but almost inaccessible to my wife who has mobility issues
Our room was well away from the main building and totally unsuitable for my wife who has mobility issues. We had to go outdoors in the rain on poorly lit path, through 2 doorways and up a wet and slippery metal stairs to room 68 called the hayloft.
Lovely older property tastefully decorated
Music too loud at breakfast, far from background music until I turned it down
Lovely old hotel with exceptional detail. Loved all the old original windows & The White Company toiletries.
My room was a tad small.
Welcoming staff. Ample parking despite functions happening. Perfect location. Room clean. We like the modern design furniture. Extra duvet requested ready. Car park at short distance to the room, esp it was raining on our arrival. It's cost room.
Window not double glazed so it's a bit cold. The window frame/sill facing the car park was very mouldy and cleaning staff seemed to have forgotten to clean that side of the room. The front door to the Stables is very stiff to open or close. Noisy as footsteps heard late at night and early morning on the floor above us as no sound barrier at all. So sleeping was interrupted.
The efficiently of checking in , the location, the view from our room was lovely
The distance of our room from the facilities especially someone whohas breathing issues The space in the bathroom was tiny, hot tap water was super hot and no warning signs to state very hot.The drinks were over priced for non branded drinks The decor could do with updating as you can see damp in the rooms we seen. The breakfast was poor over cooked tasteless, limited or little choice on the pantry , drinks and wasn't restocked. The sleep wasn't great but bed softness you can please everyone
A beautiful Property definitely worth a stay. Staff really friendly in the room is very comfortable.
The staff were amazing and attentive and welcoming. Sharon in the bar was so helpful and went out of her way to make us feel so welcomed and made our one night stay very enjoyable
No comments required here as liked it all
Staff very friendly. Breakfast was greatHotel was beautiful and would stay there again.
Going up the few stairs to my room as I have a bad knee
The main property was absolutely stunning, the food was great, and the views were lovely. The building itself is full of character and feels warm and welcoming, a beautiful place to spend time.
The room was beautiful and felt like my own little apartment. Unfortunately, it was in the new building Little Court backing onto a busy main road, which made sleeping difficult.
Great location. Bar & lounge area are lovely. Bedroom was good size with nice views over the garden. We stayed during a cold spell but the hotel was really warm. Breakfast options were really good
Looking a bit tired in some areas, carpets could do with cleaning or replacing in some areas. The food was expensive & not as good as we remembered from previous visits
The hotel was generally very good
We we told our breakfast was included in the price, but it was not .Our room was cold because they had not put on radiators
Amazing hotel, great staff and food, only downside is the included breakfast isn’t enough to fill a child.
A problem with dinner on the first evening was acknowledged and a room upgrade was offered and accepted.
Dinner was a long time arriving and underwhelming. Not good value for money.
Great location, lovely views, friendly staff, room was nice and clean.
Only a small issue, I found, as a light sleeper, was the soundproofing between the rooms.
Beautiful period property with loads of original features, big comfy rooms, clean bathrooms, loved my stay
