Cons -
- everything, the putrid smell, decor and the fact it is part building site, filthy amenities , yellow water form the tap and TV that didn't work properly, and the biggest irony was you could tell it had all been newly renovated, hate to see it in 6 months.
- The site was uninspiring - no effort made to spruce up the grounds. No breakfast available on Saturday morning that was disappointing. But I did know this before we stayed
- We had no electricity only the lights worked, no plugs worked so couldnt charge phone or have tv on or the kettle.

We had no electricity only the lights worked, no plugs worked so couldnt charge phone or have tv on or the kettle.
Bedding & towels were clean. Bed was comfortable. TV had a good choice of programmes.
Windows were very dirty. Shower faulty & dripped rust into the tray. Room was not cleaned after first night of two night stay - the bins were not even emptied. Not at all worth the cost. One bedside light did not work. No plug near the bed to charge mobile.
Bed very comfortable. Bathroom modern.
Reception area and building are dated, needs area for sitting. Bar or tea
Nothing it was filthy and represented a building site
The property was dirty. Blood on the inside of the bathroom door not been cleaned was supplied with one hand towel and one bath hand towel for two people one tea bag one Sasha of Suger between two people handbasin in the bathroom leaked on the floor when you run the tap
Disappointing, I stay in travel lodges for work often, I'm not fussy just need a room to sleep in.
I assume the place is a new purchase by the current staff. The room was okay, but the whole place is run down and in need of refurbishment. Working on this loudly in the room next door was not okay. Locking the gate at night is odd, as is the staff's attitude. I won't be back.
I like this stuff very nice person what he helpful very very nice
When you go from reception to the room is looked like not secure sometime people rooms door are open you can smell some smoking you can hear some noises so it's feel like more council house rather than a Hotel
The room was at least cleanAt £53 it was cheap but dire.
The toilet didn't flush!!!!The shower didn't drainThe shower hose leakedA large frosted glass window had no curtain, so we were woken by the daylight at 6 Very run down the whole place is locked shut behind steel gates at 22.00 and you have to telephone a number to get then openedGraa unkemptBuilding rubble was the view from the room.
Bad
Arrived alone at 7.30pm to be told they cancelled my booking even though had booking reference etc had to panic and find another hotel. Would definitely not recommend booking this hotel.
This hotel is pretty derelict looking from outside, and is in need of a overall. Windows had pillows up to the windows! The photos on line make it look like a hotel in business but in reality that isn't the case. No bar, or restaurant open, one good point the room was large and clean with coffee and tea facilities, which was a plus. However, the hot water was brown and the shower stopped working after 60 seconds. A window into the hall way lets in corridor light all night into the room and you're locked in behind big black gates after 10.00 pm, which was disconcerting! The doors to the rooms are heavy fire doors that bang shut when released, so doors banging in the wee small hours kept us awake. We definitely won't be returning...
Handy for my location.
It is being slowly renovated. Alot of the hotel is unused and dilapidated. Room hadn't been vacuumed. Shower not plumbed in correctly. Fire exit sign on the room door incorrect. TV mounted on a wall where it was not very visible. Not a pleasant place to stay, just about ok if all you need is a bed for the night.
Clearly seen better days. Significant potential for improvement. Investment required.
Old and tatty fixtures and fittings. Environment and site are very untidy. This is clearly an old 70’s motel which needs significant renovation.
Nothing as couldn't stay there due to the poor state of the place.
The room was very dirty, bed sheets dirty, cobwebs in the corner of the room, shower had mold, outside looked was dirty not even clean. Looked like a bomb site
It looked like it was derelict when I first drove into the property, then I realized it had probably recently changed management and was going through growing pains, but the reception gentleman was friendly and assured me other guests were staying there...
We got into the room and left 10 minutes after and booked the holiday inn in braintree which was fantastic, same price a
Felt unsafe, rude staff, heating didnt work in the room, very run down apart from the bathroom.
Location and price are great. The staff were welcoming and friendly, comfy bed and lovely bathroom
Not to any fault of the hotel but some other guests were quite noisy coming back late at night which woke us up.
Clean room, great shower, great tv & plenty of parking spaces
Tight exit from dual carriageway A12. Not well marked in the dark, which is when I arrived.
Great parking space, comfortable beds and very friendly staff members ?
Beds were comfortable and the place was clean.
There was ongoing building work being done. One of the lamps smashed in the night. Fire alarm at 5am. Showers not working/too low water pressure to use properly. If we had of known in advance we would have gone elsewhere.
