Hotel is rather dated but clean and staff all friendly
Location and staff 10/10
Not the cleanest. Can't complain for the price.
Very clean and spacious rooms
Ingredients used for breakfast had very little flavor.Heating pipes made a constant noise
The check-in was fast and efficient. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was good. The view of the lake was very comforting. The location is perfect for commuting to London and Kent. Close to the major airports.
The rooms were outdated; they need to be renovated for a better stay. The shower in a tub was uncomfortable. I slipped trying to get out. I stay in hotels quite often, and no other hotel I have stayed in has a shower in a tub. It hasn't changed since my first stay two years ago.
Staff were always helpful and polite
The view of the lake from our room, especially as we could sit outside and look at the ducks.
Sliding glass doors to the room with a view of the lake with plenty of water foul.
Room, bar, breakfast room were clean and comfortable.
Disabled parking was difficult to access as the car park was cramped, this was made worse by potted plants that severely reduced the access.Added to this that another vehicle managed to park partially across the only disabled space on the whole site, this meant I had to park across the access road to allow us to unpack, then squeeze back into the space leaving no room for the driver to get in and out of the car. Not possible to drive in forwards due to potted plants and cramped spacing.Staff were completely uninterested in the issues this created or getting the vehicle moved - all vehicles had to be registered to rooms and I struggled to get reception to even phone the number on the registration card, no response was the end of their involvement, the vehicle wasn't moved. In all a very stressful experience that we didn't need after a 6 hour drive.
We stay here every time we visit family who live close by. It's a lovely relaxing place to stay, especially in the summer when you can sit out by the lake. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and if you need anything, you only have to ask. The staff are really friendly and very professional and proficient in their duties. Breakfast is good value, offering 'bottomless' various cereals, toast, delicious fresh fruit salad, yoghurts as well as a traditional full English cooked breakfast!
I don't think there's anything that I can say that I don't like about the hotel. Maybe allocate a few tables outside for non-smoking guests. It would be good if the disabled bays in the car park could be reserved.
The bedding, curtains, and towels were good quality. The beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty. The lake was pretty even in the rain. The housekeeping staff were friendly and courteous.
There was no friendly welcome on arrival. No, hello, or how was your journey. The hotel is very tired. The carpet in the corridors and room is in desperate need of replacement. There was a handle missing from the dresser and a huge crack in the sink that had been filled with silicone. The bathroom needed replacement.
Lovely lakeside location with plenty of space to E around in the room.
Sat Nav just does not work to locate property and lands you in the middle of the A road which it is beside, but you can't access the hotel from there. Google maps worked better.
Breakfast was good only had basic room so only view out of window next time book room with lakeside view as first time came
Everything was fine Had shower only as requested but was on first floor thought was going to be on ground
The pizza was the only good thing
Cleanliness very bad, dogs everwhere making noise in bar which shut at 9.30!!!!!! Food poor.
Beautiful setting
You are unable to walk around the whole lake you need to pick a better room to see out on to the lake - I made the mistake of not doing so.
room size cleanliness and lake
the quality of the Bed mattress was absolutely terrible, old and broken. I had to turn the mattress around as it was so uncomfortable. Perhaps they have not been relaced in a decade. One would think they would pay attention to this very important detail. Receptionist was not friendly at all at check in.
OK
The bathroom is so dirty I still had hair in the bath and an old towel in the corner so was not happy
We had a room with access to the lake. That was the best experience here ! The ambiance is lovely ! The rooms are clean and spacious too.Staff is friendly and helpful.
1. The bathrooms are a bit dated.2. Breakfast has limited options and the quality of food was not very good.
Room was a little dated in terms of deco but it was very clean, the bed was a great size and there was plenty of room.
