Pros +
- The room was very good and spacious
- Peaceful location with easy access.
- Although rebuilt after mainly burning down in the 60s, this hotel retains its authentic Motel vibe. The layout, the feel, the décor, although newly renovated, you can literally feel the history. The staff were friendly and the food was awesome!
Cons -
- Unfortunately, the night we stayed, there was no chef, so food options were very limited.. There were no decaffeinated tea options at breakfast. My wife can't have caffeine due to health reasons.
- Didn't know how to get the heating up and too tired to get a staff to attend to it
- Unfortunately, the romantic extras package we had ordered was forgotten. Although I wasn’t charged for it, it was still extremely disappointing as I had received confirmation from management via email beforehand.Additionally, the bed was made from two single beds and mattresses pushed together, which created a noticeable ridge in the middle where they joined. This resulted in an uncomfortable slope and impacted the overall comfort of the stay.

We have been before but this was the first time with our grandson (6). Our room was spacious; a double and single bed with bathroom. All was clean and there were necessary supplies. Staff were friendly and welcoming especially the breakfast crew/chef who arranged scrambled eggs especially for our grandson and the waitress high-fived our grandson when he ate it, with which he was delighted! Noise levels are, surprisingly, very low, considering the A1M is literally a stone's throw away All our stays have been short but very enjoyable. Big thanks to all.
The hotel looks a little "tired" particularly the outside but this is no reflection of the inside.
Great chef as I had a meal the night before
All good now free parking Had problems with parking company before fining Me when I stayed last ….could put a lot of people off
Clean, quiet, comfortable room catered for three people (towels, mugs and glasses). Friendly staff and good choice for breakfast and dinner. Good value and kids loved their stay.
Staff were very helpful, rooms are lovely and clean/fresh would definitely stay again and would recommed to others
Everything was perfect
Breakfast was good… staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful
Shower was not particularly powerful and fixed shower head was a bit rubbish.
Very friendly and helpful staff, plenty of parking, the room was spacious, warm and equipped with all the basics. There is a restaurant available, food was very good and a large choice for breakfast. Also the price was very decent and we will definitely stay again.
The only thing that was a little annoying was that the TV was on the smallish side and we could only get 3 channels to work. But this wouldn't stop us from booking again.
It was conveniently located close to the motorway and it wasn't an expensive stay.
Room was cold, not the cleanest, looked very tired and worn
Great location, comfortable bed.
Putting in parking company to use car park is it necessary also needs a bit of a refurb throughout.
First time eating in the restaurant. Pizza was good size with plenty of toppings, served hot and great value for money.
Stayed many a times and beds always been fairly comfortable however this was first time it wasn't. Lad on the bar was very young and was really inexperienced not listening to what was being asked for and seemed very unsure of what he was doing.
OK but room was cold
The decor and poor lighting didn't make the room feel welcoming. The room was cold despite the heater on . The bathroom was glacial which wasn't pleasant, not helped by the floor tiling.
The rooms where very clean and tidy , the staff were lovely ...especially the lady in reception.. she accommodated all my needs and when I explained I was in recovery she was very understanding as to why I asked to have my breakfast in my room .. and also I have a addiction to ice and was also very attentive to giving me a pint glass of ice if needed it
friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms
i didn't like the parking management before but this appears to have been improved
This hotel was well positioned for a work trip, it was easy to get to and surprisingly quiet once inside considering how close it is to the A1(M). Everything was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and polite.
There were only TWO electric sockets in the room, apart from the one dedicated to the kettle. Of these, one was made inaccessible by the fixed desk lamp fitting, meaning that there was only ONE useable socket in the room - this is completely inadequate for a modern hotel with business customers who have laptops and phones etc. Also, the workspace on the desk is really tiny and narrow. The WiFi requires each device to sign in again every time you use it, which is annoying and unnecessary. The breakfast was pretty awful.
Needs a refurb but for 1 night satisfactory
Price of drinks in bar was outrageous ! Double Gin with lemonade £12.50…. 1 drink !!
Cleanliness of the room, staff was nice and polite. Excellent value for money.
Paid parking, poor F&B offer, seems the restaurant isn’t working.
The staff were friendly & very helpful.
Got a little lost finding hotel as sat.nav was playing up but did phone hotel direct, & spoke to Fabio he gave us good directions to hotel.
I needed a place to stop for the night to split a journey that was close to the motorway good value clean safe and friendly it ticked all those boxes
Rooms very basic.
