    Cons -

    • How do you start when reading other reveiws there seems to be a lack of under standing from the onwer that she cant take any critisim. She seems to be spining plates as the only person there.Cooking, cleaning, waitress, bar person,The first impression from the out side is that the owner must be the care taker as well.Get some help.Start with the out side appearance, get a strimmer and get rid of all the weeds around the whole building old fag butts in ash trays it just looks tired.Just to say the food was very good but stop telling people how many orders you have got to deal with when you have your barmans hat on .Just get some helpThis place could really thrive
    • Not enough plug sockets in the room

Lovely building, staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was good value for the area and very comfortable, with a decent menu and tasty food

Drinks were very expensive. Service could be slow due to staff having to multi-task. Check-in isn't until 5pm which isn't ideal

Food excellent.Staff excellentLocation excellent.Price for room reasonable.

£15 per night extra for our dog was rather alot on top of the bill. Our pooch sleeps in a cage and there was no extra mess made.

Room was cosy old charm exactly as you would expect from such an old building. The Landlady was so friendly and helpful and we found it great to have good food on tap seeing as we arrived late on a Sunday afternoon ! The Westcountry Inn is exactly what it says it is. Good solid clean accommodation in an old coaching Inn. .ps having the paddocks to walk the dogs was an added bonus

Breakfast was really good and friendly service. We only wanted to stay at quintessential English pubs during our visit and this fit the bill perfectly. Our bed was good, loved the low ceilings and beams and sloping floors in the bathroom.

Great location for walkers. Pet friendly. Characterful old coaching inn. Friendly, helpful staff. Generous breakfast, cooked fresh to order. Excellent value for money.

    Food

One staff member doing everything, therefore had to wait for everything. No atmosphere as no other guests. Dated bathroom and furniture and bedding.

    8AngelinaPosted on: 6-11-2024

Staff were lovely. there is a jacuzzi and it was really enjoyable to relax in the evening. The history of the place is great and it has been kept to make us feel how things would have been then.

I was a little disappointed by the food. I would have preferred fresh ravioli.

Location and comfortable bed.Owner very friendly

Shower so small hubby couldn’t shut the door Sealed units gone so couldn’t see out of windows….once you’ve gone out, no access to the building until 5pm….breakfast expensive (£14 pp) and nothing special. Found a local cafe lot cheaper, twice the amount and very nice.

    8BernadettePosted on: 6-10-2024

I like it was in the countryside and a very beautiful picturesque B&B.

The bed wasn't very comfortable but that maybe a personal preference.

Arrived after travelling for 7hrs. The place was not open. When we did get greeted we were questioned regarding our surname the person greeting us was standoffish rather rude not at all welcoming. Showed us to our room, the overpowering smell of mould hit us on entrance to the hall and up the stairs. Once shown our room told the bar will open shortly, checked hot water was on asked if we had booked breakfast, we were unsure as the booking was made months in advance said they would check. We looked at our room, the on suite appeared poorly maintained and very grubby and tired, dead moths on spare toilet paper, bedroom VERY STRONG smell of damp and mould, bed was damp to touch, the room as a whole VERY VERY old fashioned but not in a good way bedding miss match and really grubby and tired looking. We could not stay there. We then went back to our car and had to find some where else that had a vacancy for 2 adults and 2 small dogs. So we paid over £200.00 for a room that was not fit for purpose and had the stress of finding alternative accommodation at an extra cost of £98.00. We spent the night in a bed and breakfast 30 minutes away. This bed and breakfast was VERY CLEAN smelt CLEAN and breakfast was included. We could only book one night as the next night was booked out. We had a lovely welcome and good breakfast and traveled back home. Our long weekend break had to be cut to one night because of the false advertising by this inn. We had been so looking forward to our trip which should have been for Friday and Saturday night.

Every thing. Rudeness, grubby, mouldy musty smelling,
