    • Breakfast’s were smashing! Lots on offer and always left feeling stuffed. Our room was extremely clean, light and airy. Perfect view of the sea. Definitely recommend for a relaxing trip. Good location as within walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. Peter is always friendly and very attentive. Definitely will stay again! Have already recommended to friends/family :)
    • Breakfast was good but I was surprised to find that the cooked breakfast was £9.50 extra. On Booking.com it didn't specify that only a cold breakfast was included.
    • The location and view of hotel was amazing, inside and out hotel is very clean, staff was amazing, really enjoyed our stay.

    Cons -

    • Room was small and in the eaves. Shower is ok for someone under 5'6". Very close to railway line which can be a problem if you like to sleep with windows open. Smell of school dinners on entering was not enticing!
    • Not really a bad thing just might of made our stay just that little bit better would have been ventilation got rather hot during the night and didn’t want to leave door open all night as bugs, but even that I wouldn’t say is a bad thing was just a really hot couple of nights.
    • shame bistro wasn't open Tuesday and Wednesday

A beautiful room with a fantastic view of the bay.Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for Peter and Ruth.

    To be honest, Nothing!

    8PeterPosted on: 5-24-2022

Very clean, modern and newly refurbished.Good bathroom and breakfast.Enjoyed a few drinks in Barney’s bar

Single rooms appear to be on the top floor (4 flights of stairs), people with limited mobility might need a room on lower floor. Parking was fine, but could become quite limited if the hotel was full.

Ruth and Peter were so nice and so hospitable nothing to much trouble ,beautiful place they have spotlessly clean ,beautifully decorated throughout very peaceful and welcoming atmosphere , food and drink selections amazing

Clean, nicely furnished hotel located opposite a quiet sandy beach between Paignton and Torquay. On site parking.

Oppressive number of rules put in letters and enforced from moment of arrival - guests are treated like school kids rather than 'Adults'. The 'Deluxe single room with sea view' had two windows - one onto a busy railway, the other onto a neighbouring roof with only an oblique sea view. Small attic room. No desk or dressing table.

    10PeterPosted on: 5-9-2022

Excellent Breakfast and to your set requirements. The location right by the beech is second to none. You can see the whole of Torbay.

The location, and the service was perfect.

    10TracyPosted on: 4-10-2022

Clean, modern. Friendly hosts. Great facilities, Good food. Stunning views.

    10IanPosted on: 3-26-2022

Peter and Ruth are very good hosts. Breakfast is plentiful. The bar menu is good. I recommend the chicken caesar salad and the fish and chips. The bar is well stocked for a small hotel. There’s a nice range of local beer and cider which I sampled.

    Nothing worth mentioning.

    10DebraPosted on: 10-23-2021

The breakfast was exceptional - cooked exactly as I requested. The location could not have been better - on the beach front and walking distance for everything you could want .

    I have no complaints whatsoever!

    9JamesPosted on: 10-23-2021

The location on the seafront was superb. The breakfast was great! The room was comfortable and we'll equipped. Peter and Ruth were friendly hosts and helpful with local knowledge.

The odd train late at night which passed by our window after 11pm.

    8RaymondPosted on: 10-23-2021

Breakfast served with military precision. Bed comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Lovely shower. Wonderful sea views. Beautiful decoration. Efficient blinds. Binoculars in room a good touch. Nice hospitality tray.

Room is small. Stairways decoration not quite as good decor as room. Very fussy lights over bed. No hot chocolate on hospitality tray. Could hear guests in room above. Breakfast portions a little underwhelming,

    9ClairePosted on: 10-18-2021

A great breakfast with a beautiful view out over the bay.

Trains were a little noisy, but nothing the host could do about that!

    8CliffPosted on: 10-3-2021

Location is wonderful, right on the sea front with superb views. It had recently been refurbished so everything was new and fresh. The whole place was very clean and tidy and all Covid measures were in place and adhered to. Breakfast was really nice and the staff were all attentive and friendly.

The only slight moan I had was the en suite shower room was quite small with no shelves to put things. The sink was tiny and didn’t allow for easy use.

    10HilaryPosted on: 10-3-2021

Lovely welcome, fabulous sea view from our room, tasty breakfasts, comfortable, attractive, modern amenities with added extras, such as binoculars in our bedroom and a flask of fresh milk and individual jars of tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. All in a great location, on the promenade and within a short distance of shops, cafés, etc.
