Pros +
- Amazing place with quirky decor and lots of nice touches.
- The accommodation was excellent, the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional as were other staff and dogs around the site . The occasion of our visit was to celebrate a significant birthday and met all our expectations. The Bridport area was a perfect setting for wandering about and exploring.
- Great service from all members of the team and was extremely dog friendly.
Cons -
- Whilst there was a good choice of very tasty set breakfast options, be aware that you have to pay extra for coffee, tea, a second egg and even an extra slice of toast! This seems quite bizarre and I have never come across this before. The owner/manager was far from gracious when I pointed this out and this rather took the edge off my final experience of the Outbuildings.
- A second choice of vegetarian mains would have been very welcome.
- Fresh towels not arranged on each dayTea and coffee not included in price for breakfastShower curtain feels horrible and slightly uncleanHot and cold taps in bathroom are wrong way roundAsked to check in from 3 which was confirmed on email however once arriving room wasn’t ready and was told check in a is at 4?

Excellent property with a great country vibe and great views across the fields. Good facilities in the accommodation with everything needed for comfortable and quiet night away.
What a find. It is a perfect place for a relaxed and doggy friendly stay. The room had everything you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. I couldn't recommend it more and we'll stay again.
There was nothing to dislike
one word .. amazing! we had such a lovely stay in ‘the pen’ , great set out with amazing views. the staff were excellent from start to finish and they were very welcoming to. my partner & i booked for the ‘hay barn cinema’ in the evening what a lovely touch that was - netflix, sweet treats, hot chocolate and heated blankets etc - it was sooo snug!
The room was exceptionally beautiful, very clean, and well appointed, with one exception no dining table and chairs, which as it was meant for 4 people and the coffee table was too high for a coffee table and too low for a dining
The door in the restaurant below slammed and shook the room, lack of a dining table and chairs.
Superior room was very comfortable. staff excellent, food quality - all fresh and tasty
very close to busy road. soundproofing in the deluxe room- you could hear everything next door
Things we liked:- Parking- Pet-friendly rooms- Room size- Nice fireplace and tub- Nice kitchen/fridge/amenities
Things that could improve:- More vegetarian options on the menu (since restaurants are a drive away)- More comfortable pillows
My wife and I had a lovely birthday celebration at the Outbuildings. The Coop room was lovely for us and our dog, and the outdoor bath was exceptionally relaxing after a day walking the beach. I also organised the Orchard experience with the hotel, which was great and the food was delicious. The hotel also catered to our food allergies which we were very grateful for. Overall a peaceful and restorative stay, we would love to return.
Comfortable, clean, everything thought of to make your stay enjoyable.Staff friendly and helpful.
We had a truly magical time. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and 2 birthdays. The room was beautiful, very cosy and perfect for a winters day. It had been sympathetically decorated and you can tell that it has been designed with a lot of care and love. The whole team who work and manage the property were available whenever you needed them but were discreet and aware of the intimate environment that they offer. The supper club was wonderful and the breakfast baskets delivered to your room were perfect. We also chose to do the Private cinema experience which was incredible. Our black lab joined us and we all had a cosy night together. The location is lovely, as of course its in the heart of Dorset. To sum up, an intimate, relaxing, comfortable experience and I would buy the room if I could! The business deserve for you to stay if you are hoping to travel to Dorset and we hope they continue to provide such a wonderful experience
Honestly, the fact we had to leave.
Beautiful setting and fabulous place - very friendly and luxurious. The staff are wonderful and couldn't do enough for me - I just wish I could have stayed longer!
You definitely need a car to get around.
Loved the standard of decor and service and the quiet location. It felt very luxurious and private and yet also really individual touches. Loved the log burner inside and out and the bath was amazing.
Check out - should be later than 10am.Cooker facilities felt too cramped to be pleasant to cook in. Couldn’t figure out the kettle situation.
The attention to detail in the design and friendliness of staff was second to none. Highly recommend. Felt like a home away from home.
That i only stayed two nights.
Excellent family run business that welcomes you with open arms, made to feel comfortable from the outsetIdyllic, quiet location in the countryside Very pretty room (Farrow), just across from the barn where there's a lovely bar & courtyard where we enjoyed a lovely alfresco evening meal and bottle of wineWill definitely return
Staff were helpful and kind, the room was comfortable and furnished well. We recommend the dinner and breakfast they were delicious
It is the perfect countryside retreat with added luxury! We loved the room and toiletries that were in the room so much that we purchased some on our departure. The Cart Shed is also a lovely touch where they serve delicious cocktails.
Nothing - It really was a great staycation and we would happily return!
The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the text for a tipple service! Our stay at the outbuildings was exceptional, the rooms were beautifully decorated with all the equipment you needed for a weekend stay including the most lovely shampoos and soaps that they sell on site. We opted for the hot tub and cinema room experience and they did not disappoint.
It is an amazing small farm based hotel. The quality of the decor, buildings and set up is outstanding. It is very cool, hip and trendy and the fact you can mix some self catering with the convenience of hotel quality food and drinks is brilliant. The hosts were first class.
Only thing that could be better would be a larger size bed as it was a standard double and would like a king or queen for the price. But the rest of the stay and quality more than made up for that. We will return!
