    Pros +

    • The hotel was in a great location, staff really friendly and attentive, great food and I had a lovely room with good facilities.
    • Excellent location on the promenade in Sidmouth, adjacent to the main shopping area.
    • My situation was quite difficult as I tested positive for covid while staying at the hotel. The staff were both professional and very kind and understanding. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.

    Cons -

    • There wasn't anything I didn't like.
    • Originally offered a room with 2 beds, not sure if this was my mistake in booking? Took a few minutes but we were switched to a room with a queen though it was the smallest queen bed I have ever encountered.
    • THE BEDROOM DISGUSTING , A VERY SMALL BOX , WITH NO OUTLOOK BEING SITUATED ABOVE THE KITCHEN AT REAR OF BUILDING. SWELTERING HEAT BUT NOT ABLE TO OPEN WINDOW BECAUSE OF THE STINK OF FOOD FROM THE EXTRACTOR FAN OUTLET AND CONSTANT NOISE OF THE EXTRACTOR WORKING. NO FAN PROVIDED - SLEEP HARD TO ACHIEVE AND UNABLE TO SPEND ANY QUALITY TIME IN THE ROOM. APPALLING TO TO USED AS A GUEST ROOM AND I AM TAKING THE ISSUE UP DIRECT WITH THE HOTEL.

Great location on the seafront. Very nice residents' lounge and lifts to all floors. There is some parking available (free) but this needs to be reserved in advance. But we were able to reserve a parking space and that is a bonus in this town with limited public parking. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the restaurant where the food and service were excellent. Staff are all charming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

The room was very small and not good value for the price paid. The hotel was full this week so there was no opportunity to move. Rooms vary in size, so I recommend checking that the room is a suitable size when you book.

Beautiful location on the seafront. There are plenty of outside tables on a terrace for drinks and relaxing. Large lounge areas with free coffee.Well stocked bar serving nice wines and crisps or nuts.Delicious breakfast with a great cooked menu. Eggs Florentine was superb, thank you ? ? Some free parking spaces, if any, are available, and you need to ask for one to be reserved on your arrival or pay £8.80 for 24 hours at Manor Rd Car Park.Clean bedroom and bathroom with newly upgraded showers and sanitary ware.Friendly and kind staff, which made my stay more enjoyable. Perfect hotel for the solo traveler and an abundance of returning regulars.

My booking for two nights through Booking.com advertised free parking on site. After securing the single room, I was contacted by the hotel and told that I would be moved to another room for the second night. Also that I couldn't be guaranteed a parking space. The move was to a larger room but meant I was without my own room for 1.5 hours while cleaning the new room. It was an inconvenience, but the staff were very hospitable and managed to reserve a parking space for my second day. I was just happy to have such a great location and comfortable accommodation for two nights during the busy Folk Festival. Thank you, Kingswood Hotel!

    Outstanding breakfast!Fantastic location!

Small room with no air conditioning and noisy (seagulls outside window/roof)!

The location is right on the seafront. The staff were fantastic from the warm greeting from Liz on Reception to the friendly and attentive breakfast staff who were so efficient, prompt and again so friendly.

View of the sea, right next to the town. Perfect location. The room was cozy and very comfortable. Restaurant was great. Staff there were excellent.

    Nothing it was perfect.

Great location, lovely staff, peaceful hotel, great coffee.

There was nothing I didn’t like, I would just personally have liked the room to have been cooler / the windows to open, as it was a warm space. The mattress was a little too firm (and I’m a firm fan normally!), but again this was just a small gripe.

    Cleanliness, view, staff, breakfast,comfortable bed.

    9LynnePosted on: 4-1-2025

Pleasant hotel in a lovely setting. The furniture in my room was a little shabby and the only place to sit was on the bed. The staff were exceptional

    10MaijuPosted on: 3-20-2025

The sea front view with balcony was simply perfect, I was so happy with my stay!

The bed was very soft for me but I know I am in the minority preferring a harder mattress.

So close to the beach we were able to nip across for a swim in the sea before heading back for breakfast! Lovely and comfy.

Our room was on the small side but I would just book a bigger one next time. Dining rooms could do with some background music!

    9AnnaPosted on: 12-29-2024

Delicious well cooked breakfast and good choice of fruit and cereals. Comfotable room, good shower. Great value for money
