- Restaurant menu was like a cheap American restaurant chain. Much of the food seemed to have been bought and just heated.

Value was reasonable
Restaurant menu was like a cheap American restaurant chain. Much of the food seemed to have been bought and just heated.
Two great things with our room - the lighting over the bed was bright so I could read easily - it's usually dingy. And there was not just a shower but a bath with plenty of really hot water - fantastic after a 14 mile walk! Location was excellent for the walks we were doing. Easy parking. It was very quiet- tho we were not there at a weekend.
Range of breakfast options was a bit constrained- I couldn't have cereal with my scrambled egg on toast, and the continental breakfast was either toast or pastry ,not both as I am used to! Breakfast starts at 8, I would prefer 7 30 - but I guess staff don't want to..
Very friendly staff. Menu was extensive, though chips with everything, and even more chips if you wanted! Comfortable beds. Abergavenny was a lovely small town with lots of shops.
Heating and hot water were a bit erratic.
Welcoming arrival and shown the room .The room was small but quite adequate for one night. The food was very good and the breakfast was exceptional. Having electric car charging was a real bonus.
The room had very squeaky floor boards which was a little annoying when having to get up during the night.
Check in was easy. Parking was easy and plentiful and free. Staff were friendly and efficient. Burger was lovely, beer was a bit pricey, but I have just come back from Poland/Ukraine ;) Breakfast was great and reasonable value. Overall would recommend.
Lovely staff, clean, silent and cozy room
Croissant diring breakfast was the only bad point
We had an hour wait for dinner, but they were busy. Breakfast was great and will return.
Staff were lovely but the rooms were dated. No step free access to rooms which made luggage/pram/baby difficult to navigate getting in and out.
A few stains on the carpet and radiators were all or nothing.
What a lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly, efficient, and very welcoming. Lewis, Chey, and Kat were excellent. We had an evening meal and breakfast, and both were lovely. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable.
Our only observation was that the pillows were hard. There weren't any negatives about the lamb and flag, infact we asked if we could stay an extra night, but they were fully booked.
Good food, secure location for bikes, and a comfy bed.Friendly staff, very helpful
Location was great, food was ok.
Lack of staff meant long waits for food
Gigi’s value for money staff and the new owners are very friendly
All good , but walls could do with a little tlc .
Good location, comfy bed. Friendly staff
Good sized, light room. Great en-suite with excellent shower. Lovely restaurant with very good menu. Lucy, our waitress was really lovely and very helpful. Good for parking.
Everything! The staff were fantastic, lovely menu, bedrooms spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Nothing!
Great staff, good food clean room
No real complaints - would have liked more coffee/tea/milk in the room
The meal, specifically the steak, was average (tough meat)
