Villiers Hotel

Pleasant hotel well located in Buckingham. Good parking and centrally located. Staff were pleasant and the room was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was not a boutique experience and felt a little corporate. Breakfast was ok but not amazing… for example the coffee machine wasn’t working, but there wasn’t anyone there to help or give you an adjustable, just a notice!

At breakfast there was a lack of initial service with no greeting or support with the buffet. Food was fine though and when a member of Staff did appear they were helpful. There was not the sense of attention to guests that you get in some hotels and that was a shame as staff were lovely when they did assist.

Staff pleasant and obliging. Upgraded room large with sofa, large bed.

Allocated room very hot. No windows would open. Curtains and windows dirty, flies, dust,etc. Breakfast very ordinary. Lack of choice & quality on Continental - few pastries and branded yoghurts. No cheese, meats,etc. For £20/head poor value though good 'cooked' choice. Dinner mains very expensive - ate out.

One of the rooms heating did not work, had to move to a different floor which was not great for the pensioners, shower was dripping all night

Good location comfy room

very understaffed the girl on reception was new and couldn’t get hold of her manager for a long time whilst other members of our party were trying to get a light bulb changed and to see why heating wasn’t working in another room

Good location, large room, good parking, good price, booked for one night stayed an extra night because we were so impressed

Bar was poor, restaurant was empty, asked for the fire to be lit in the bar as it was cold, but told no way as it was just after 9pm, not impressed!

Stayed over Christmas which i was concerned about. Thought i may feel homesick. They made me so welcome. I was even given a Christmas gift and card. Extremely thoughtful

Should have stayed longer

My request for 2 adjacent rooms was taken care of.

First of all we were not able to check-in at the check-in time of 3.00PM as the hotel was not ready with our bookings. FInally at around 4 PM we got the room, and one of the 2 rooms was double-booked. Later, after about an hour, this was sorted by providing another room. The breakfast was below average.

Issue with booking - booked dates in December not January as requested. Staff unhelpful and rude, with no attempt to resolve issue.

Location of hotel was excellent. Bedrooms excellent size, and furnishing matched the theme and style of hotel.

Ensure that the space between top of sink and counter top is renovated, as appearance is distracting from all the good aspects.

Breakfast was slow and run out of cups and pastries etc. not enough staff to cope with the amount of people.

We have been go in to the villiers for over 10 years and has been great the room was clean and nice comfortable

The service for drinks and lunch was very slow it took over half an hour for my coffee, the lady in the dinner kept disappearing an telling me to wait the was over 10 mins when back to my seat and waited another 15 mins when someone else came along and helped.

Bathroom needed revamp.Cold bath tap was ceased up and bath was a jacuzzi bath but not working.Many stains on carpet in need of a clean.

We stayed at the hotel as we were attending runfest at Silverstone. The hotel is situated a short drive from the racetrack. The hotel itself was clean, with spacious rooms. Both the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable and the staff were friendly and offered assistance throughout our stay.

Staff were very helpful, polite and accommodating.

No hot water / water in bath at all. Very disappointing as my son wanted to have a bath and wasn’t able.

We booked with friends in the restaurant, our waitress was very rude. I was told off for ordering a drink at one point because someone else in the group had ordered one 5 minutes before. My partner and myself ordered our steaks medium rare, this came out medium to well done. We asked if this could be changed and was told there was nothing wrong with it and there was no food to change to. My partner then could hear her talking about her saying that’s how we ordered it. After we spoke with another waitress she then resolved the issue and changed the food. She could not apologise enough and changed our waitress. Our second waitress was perfect and helpful. Unfortunately the first waitress ruined our trip and left us feeling quite upset. This was our friend’s first trip to the UK and not a great experience for them.
