- Pleasant facilities, room was nice.
- The grounds and old Tudor buildings were beautiful. Pub was cosy.Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious
- Size of the room was sufficient Nice to have a dog bowl and cushion
Cons -
- 15 year old daughter had to swim with the little kids. They should review their age limit for children.Paying £20 to use a small pool and swim with little kids. When they said you can use the facilities, they should have made it clear that it will cost extra.Reception staff could smile once in a while.
- Facilities were dated and poorly maintained. Could not find a locker in the changing rooms that actually worked. Breakfast was well overpriced for what it was. The hot breakfast was tepid at best with hash browns that were ice cold.
- Housekeeping did not clean the room properly between nights, the room was not hoovered and bed not made properly, no drinking water was available we had to go to reception and ask. Toilet was very difficult to flush especially for my aunty who is a stroke survivor. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on and the pillows flat. The spa could have been cleaner, swimming pool had a lot of hair.

Beautiful location. Room was comfortable. l
The spa is really tired, none of the lockers worked which apparently gets commented on all the time but never fixed. The jacuzzi is the same temp as the pool , not warm and no one stayed in for long whereas the steam room was probably the hottest I’ve ever been in and no one was staying in longer than 5 mins. The meal was over priced and very ordinary. The Black Forest gateau has a base that tasted like cardboard.
Loved the Tudor style rooms! Restaurant and bar were lovely too
The spa is dated and the facilities are not as they should be. No bath robes, not enough loungers. The Jacuzzi is linked to the pool so the water is super cold. There is no cold shower for after the saunas but a bucket with cold water that’s impossible to move enough to actually get splashed with.
The area is really pretty, even on a rainy day.The room was comfortable and the spa was amazing. The steam room and sauna was lovely.Staff were very friendly and professional.
The restaurant was ok, food wasn't that exceptional for what you pay for but was definitely good.
Good food. Moved to a more accessible room due to my mobility problems.
Too many steps, very difficult for severely disabled and wheelchair users. Bar was very small for size of establishment. My original email of mobility difficulties was not fully addressed but soon rectified on arrival.
Staff and service excellent. Room was lovely. Evening meal in restaurant was very good.
Bar closes early. Hot tub is part of the main swimming pool so water is not warm.
Clean room, friendly staff. Treatments at the spa were good.
Leisure facilities were dirty (female changing rooms, sauna and poolside shower) Food was hit and miss and expensive
Good gym, excellent breakfast, nice clean modern room.
Most rooms in out buildings well away from reception building. I couldn’t seem were I was walking in the dark, lighting poor!
The grounds, Spa treatments and Spa, Cleanliness. Overall it was great, GREAT value for money. Would Definity recommend and stay again!
I wanted a couple of beers when i was having some down time and had 1 and waited 15 minutes for a staff member to come to the bar to serve. Fed up of waiting so just left. Also the showers in the mens spa changing room, the waste was on fixed onto the tray. Breakfast was included, im glad it was because i would not have been happy with paying extra for it.
Beautiful hotel . Great room and facilities . Helpful friendly staff .Food and drinks menu really good . . Easy to find way around .
Lights in room kept going off ( bulb needed changing )
Everything was brilliant
The pool wasn’t warm. The soa pool is in the swimming pool so not warm either. Would be perfect if the spa pool could be a separate area. What made this all 10/10 was the treatment . I had the best facial I have ever had . Sadly forgotten the lady’s name but she was amazing
Staff are efficient. Pool is lovely.
Rooms are small. You should insist all your hotels publish room sizes
The spa was lovely lots of beds to sit and relax by the pool . Had a nice massage . There was a small bar by the pool which was nice to be able to have a drink and relax . All very clean . Had a very nice room the bed was really comfortable . The food was nice a little limited selection for vegetations but had a yummy veggy breakfast.
The waiting staff seemed a little unsure on food they had available and more options for vegetarians would be nice
The staff were helpful and friendly. The builing itself and the grounds are obviously very beautiful.
The bed in the suit 501 is terrible, neither myself or my wife had a good night sleep. Absolutly bad.Our room had a busted hole in the wall in the lounge part, not major but it looks bad.No soap in the dispensers in the batbroom.Blood stain spot on the pillow. No table at all to use for a desk or for my wife to do her makeup infront of. She had to sit on the floor in the hall way.The cooked breakfast in the morning was very expensive and really bad. Cardboard bacon, dry sausage, soggy black pudding, hardly cooked hash browns, and the fried egg was cooked the same as you would find in a greasy spoon cafe, soaked in oil on the plate. There was a loaf of bread labled sour dough but it was clearly just some generic loaf. If the breakfast was half the price i wouldnt have a complaint. But charging gourmet prices i would expect something fresh cooked at least.Neither of the 2 televisions in the suite worked properly. I rang reception but they said they knew about the issue. That was that. Our suite was directly above the resturant which we didnt know at the time of booking, We wanted an early night for the big day of travelling the next day. We could hear peoples conversations like we were in the room. The contant banging of doors and i assume the dishwasher whiring away were all enough to stop us sleeping. Its not really anyones fault but maybe it should say at the time of booking to bring some ear plugs. The radiator in the bedroom is broken. The balcony door is broken.I would've expected the suite to have a small fridge too.The whole place needs a bit of updating to be fair.I really wish i had booked somewhere else because it was a real let down. But all of this would be forgiven if they just spent the money on a decent matress. I cant speak enough as to how uncomfortable the bed was. I even tried the sofa bed in the lounge and that was just as bad. Very cheap rubbish furniture. Again if the price was cheap i would say you get what you pay for.
Location, rooms and overall relaxed feel
Restaurant/bar staff a bit stretched.
On the plus side we did like our room, the air con worked and the staff were friendly and well-meaning. But I don’t think we will be booking a stay here again.
Sadly we did not have the time we expected at the Lythe Hill Hotel. I’ve been before and have previously lived in the area for many years where the hotel enjoyed a very good reputation. I think this reputation has dropped over the years and it was quite evident from our two night stay there at the end of December. Our main disappointment was with the dining experience. We arrived for an 8pm dinner on our first evening having travelled a couple of hours. We had missed lunch so we were hungry and quite tired. Between being seated and receiving our drink (yes, singular) half an hour had passed. I just ordered water, but in the end this didn’t come. We both ordered the Chicken Supreme which definitely did not live up to the name. Two small chicken breasts on a plate with a portion of peas. As that was the contents of the dish, the peas rolled around the plate, which was a bit comical really. I had ordered an added side of chips which weren’t the best, and this brought it to £30! - Sorry but not good enough. There was only one set of cutlery laid out and when the waiter brought more there was no napkin, but bizarrely he brought an additional set of cutlery which he laid next to my wife’s dish even though she was already eating! Very odd, I think he was just a bit frazzled perhaps. We avoided desert and left as soon as we could. One of the waiters was nice enough to enthusiastically wish us ‘a wonderful rest of your day’, despite it being 9:30pm at this stage. Breakfast didn’t fair that much better, we arrived late so the hot plate servings were basically cold (which I suppose is our fault). I enjoyed what I could but wrote off that breakfast and ensured we ordered better the next morning. I played it safer the next day and ordered breakfast with the waiter, a simple poached egg on toast with a sausage. The poached egg was good but the sausage was stone cold. No pepper on the table either.(And on a side note, the pool lockers were nearly all broken.)
The staff at the hotel was largely helpful. We were even recommended some good places to visit nearby by the member of the waiting staff. Room was nice and clean and had all the necessary amenities. The location is really nice, moments away from Haslemere, a beautiful town. Breakfast was nice and fresh. There are dedicated electric vehicle charging spots in the parking area. All in all a cozy little hotel worth visiting again.
The shower rooms in the men's spa and fitness are need maintenance and love. The lockers need a fix too. An additional hair dryer in the changing rooms will be helpful.
Clean good size room
TV reception was poor.
