About
This majestic Victorian manor sits on Ryde seafront overlooking the marina. It features bright, elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi and hearty, traditional cuisine in its restaurant. Ryde Castle is only 2 minutes’ walk from the hovercraft and catamaran services that link the Isle of Wight to Portsmouth and Southsea. Newport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel. All rooms at Ryde Castle are traditionally furnished with a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and a private bathroom. Some rooms offer views of the sea. You can enjoy a meal or drink in the restaurant, or on the bar's patio area. Free parking is available on site. The property has a elevator to take you to the first floor of rooms, however it does not serve the second floor of the hotel.

Pros +
- Good location.
- Very comfortable, good breakfast
- Very welcoming
Cons -
- Fire alarms went off in the night 3 of the 5 nights. When asking the staff why this was, got a response of “it’s annoying isn’t it”. A “sorry this has been happening” would have been nice.Wi-Fi was very slow. TV remote had Netflix button on it, but was not available on the tv.Breakfast finished at 9am, which seems quite early. Bathroom cleaning by housekeeping was not very good at all. Staff all seemed to be unhappy. Have stayed there more than once previously and it was a lot different. Remember staff as being very nice and friendly.
- Travelled for work so didn't stay up late, rooms above the bar were quite noisy until it closed
- Awful nights sleep and would like money back to noisy

Food, accomodation and staff were excellent.
Damaged chair in room 6. Defective lift on two occasions.
Friendly, approachable staff. Comfortable rooms. I had a good night's sleep.
Room, location, food, staff
poor/no wifi, some of the tiles in the bathroom floor moved when you walked over them where the grout had cracked.
Nice property. Probably very grand in the day. A little tired now but still great value.
Nothing to complain about. Brilliant staff, comfortable room. A little tired but still very nice.
We had a great weekend in the Ryde castle. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay again, and most probably will.
the room was fantastic and extremely comfortable
The food all around wasn't great. The steak I sent back it was that bad. The breakfast was disappointing and the staff really couldn't get us out there quick enough.
Everything was lovely, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was spot on. The only thing we missed was maybe a toastie for lunch.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
The location was good. It was clean but is tired
I booked a twin room and a double room. No twin room was provided and the one room hadn’t been made up. Asked for a twin room and was told they don’t have any and eventually the lady split the beds up. So this was the double room with a view. We ended up in a double room with no sea view. It is tired. The film on the window in the bathroom was disgusting. It was mouldy and looked awful. The window frame was black and rotten.
Breakfast & waitress service was great.
Unfortunately restaurant was closed due to a gas problem in kitchen. Resorted to snack in the bar but these too had run out. The bar area was very cold due to the French doors not closing properly . This I believe is an existing problem that has not been addressed. Gas was fixed by breakfast time ‘ service resumed.
We had stated at the Ryde Castle hotel for the previous three nights and were supposed to go back to the mainland on 31st December but due to fog, the ferry wasn't sailing. Went online and managed to book an additional night at the hotel and both stays were excellent. In particular, the helpfulness of the people on reception was fantastic - I didn't get their names but they were a credit to the hotel and would definitely make me want to stay with them again.
Room was comfortable but needs more clothes hanging space, Breakfast was excellent with plenty of different options. seating in the bar was comfortable with friendly helpful bar staff. dinner food was good quality, on busy days when all food was cooked fresh it was excellent. Hotel location is great on the sea front with sea views
On quiet days some of the food was cold, it appeared to have been cooked earlier and kept until ordered
Clean, good location
Fire alarm went off twice during the night - total sleep ruiner. Accidentally set off both times.
A good stay, clean room, great location. Room 5 was possibly not the biggest but we paid for the sea view, we had a room the other end of the castle so the pub noise was minimum. . Staff friendly. A good breakfast. Would return for sure.
Cold Resturant / dirty plugs but not enough for us not to return.
Staff and food was excellent
The poor temp fluctuations in the showroom and bath
Great location...nice room though very cold but thankfully there was an electric heater we could use.Comfy bed
The heater in bathroom was on but bathroom was freezing safe to say not much time spent in there
Fantastic value for a Christmas break near family. Breakfast being included in the price (plenty of cooked & continental options available) was a real bonus & meant much needed lie-ins on Christmas Day & Boxing Day. The staff were lovely; nothing was too much trouble. The room was cosy with quirky decor.
People arriving back to their rooms gone 2300 hrs talking at the top of their voices & generally being loud when other guests are trying to get to sleep/relax. I know it is Christmas & people quite rightly want to enjoy themselves but consideration of others went out of the window. There were other guests leaving at 0600 hrs who proceeded to wheel their cases down the wooden stairs, waking me up.
Windows leaking Room small and VERY basic
The room was actually quite depressing
