The Wight Bay Hotel

Location is very good for the town and beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free WiFi.

Only 4 rooms occupied when we visited so the bar only opened from 8 to 8.30, The restaurant was also closed so we went into town for food and drink. They lost revenue from food and drinks.

Nothing Except the poor man on reception who was trying to be very helpful but was clearly embarrassed about the state of the hotel

First of all toiletries are not available in the room or toilet. Toilet paper and hand wash were not available there since the we checked in. Also, when we contacted the staff and he told me that he will provide us within 5 minutes.and we were waiting 1 hr till he did not come. Also, TV is not working. Moreover, carpet on the floor was very dirty and disgusting. When we walk dust comes up in foot. In addition, door of the bathroom and toilet was broken we couldn't closed it due to broken...

The room was filth, the beds were crawling and it was scary never slept there walked in room looked at state of it and asked for refund, took 4 weeks to get refund total bed bug pit

It wasn’t worth for money… really very dirty washrooms… not at all comfortable…. There were no handwash and no body wash available it was all empty… in terms of cleanliness its 0/10. Very bad experience…. no one at the reception desk to ask for amenities…

The two managers did thir best

There was no Breakfast available on site. Our t.v. wasnt working due to no aerial connection. manager had a go at fixing it but it needed a new splitter box. felt the hotel lacked any ambience.

No staff around on arrival, the room was absolutely filthy! Inside of kettle was vile, no ventilation small windows that did not open wide to let air in very chlosteraphobic. Bathroom dirty, bedding dirty. Dirty marks all over the walls. No remote for the TV. Decor of room and hallway dirty and not maintained. Bedside tables dirty. Not fit for sleeping in so much so I handed the key back and left and went elsewhere £66 wasted. Have emailed to request a refund but no reply.

The room was no TV working, no kettle for tea, cables lying around the floor/ safety hazard

The room

Had a double room instead of a single room. Manager carried my bag upstairs on my arrival and took me to my room.

Bathroom light did not work, despite numerous promises it didn’t get fixed. So had to use a light over the mirror in the bathroom, not satisfactory. Was their for 9 nights, the manager came in once to look at the bathroom light and replenished tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc. ( that was after 5 nights) But told him that no one had been in my room, to bring anything, or clean anything, no toilet rolls were replenished, bought my own. Told him this. Said he would pass this on to the staff. Every day after that a bag was hung on the outside of my room door with tea , coffee , milk, sugar inside. No one came into my room. My sink or my toilet were not checked at all in 9 nights, At the end of my stay I rang the bell at the desk, he answered it by phone saying he was at the shop, to leave the key on the side. Not even a safe Journey, or anything. What kind of a hotel is it. I went into the hotel car park to wait for my taxi. The manager came back from the shop, but ignored me, how rude is that. This hotel let’s Island people down, and the good reputations they have.

It's in a great location and the view if you get one is stunning. The staff were friendly and it was clean and issues were dealt with quickly.

The bar and restaurant were not open. Housekeeping was only every 3rd day.I ran out of loo roll, tea bags etc and staff weren't always around.It was a shame as I'd stayed before and had had a good stay. This was ok but didn't live up to the previous one.

As ever Matt provides an exceptionally good valued hotel that has many individualistic features...If you are looking for bog standard, this is not for you, but looking for a pleasant stay in a really nice room that has obviously had thought and care put in, then this IS the place! Well done Matt and the team

A lift would have enhanced my access to the second floor with a VERY heavy case.....

It was a good location.The view was amazing.The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

The shower room light didn't work. They did not do breakfast.

It was near the sea, friendly atmosphere,and good value

Just the stairs as we were up two flights and one set was quite steep

Nothing at all

The room is shitty and dirty, toilet is dirty and stinks with no tissue paper, lights has no bulb, linens are having stained with bed bugs, staff are not available when to complain, no breakfast as stated in the system to be included, we have a horrible and uncomfortable stayed throughout.

Absolutely nothing

Upon entering the building, i was greeted by many flies, then a horrible odour. The manager handed me the keys and directions to the room. The room was near what looked like a storage room for filthy/infested mattresses. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall. The shower grout had black mould.. the window seals were mouldy... spider webs.... and to top it off, i got bitten by the bed bugs.... i wish i had bought a refundable package or had money for another hotel... this establishment should not be called a hotel, nor should it be on bookings.com... the pictures advertised are a scam!!!! THIS IS A HEALTH HAZARD AND SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN!!!

The young lad who seemed to be reception/bar staff everything was very helpful.

Really needs to be updated. Lights not working, wallpaper falling off the walls, sofa in the room that you fell through if you sat on it. Shower hanging off the wall. Was more like an emergency accommodation facility than a hotel. Paid for breakfast but they aren’t doing any food at the minute. For one night just for a bed it was survivable but wouldn’t use it for an extended period out if you are wanting to base yourself there

Good location for the beach.

The room was tired looking, peeling wall paper, rips in the bedding, black mould in various places. Zero room service, only left us 1 toilet roll and no offers of fresh towels at all. We got home less than 24 hours ago, so far I have had 8 automated emails from the hotel asking for a review.
