- It was an average stay. We took sea view with balcony king suite, but space was really crunched, and the balcony for which we paid extra was not maintained/cleaned, and it was very small with no chair, etc hence we couldn'tuse it. Wifi wasn't working. The location was good, but it wasn't value for money at all.

Wonderful Victorian decor. Large comfortable room and excellent hospitality. Excellent breakfast with view of the water and ships passing.
We were very well taken care of at Villa Rothsay! Excellent host that helped us plot our days and gave great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The breakfast was both delicious and filling, and we enjoyed dining in the conservatory with the beautiful views over the Solent. The hotel is full of history and character and it's worth taking a moment to enjoy the drawing room and honesty bar to savor an extra slice of old world charm.
Nothing was too much trouble. I was extremely impressed with the level of service. The view from the balcony was sublime, and the walk from town took me away from the bustle of Cowes into a lovely calm space.
Lovely position and our room overlooked the sea which was great. Bit of a hilly walk into Cowes but fine for us
An average stay but not value for the money

The hotel is a very well preserved Victorian house with an annex within about 25 minutes walk from the centre of Cowes. We had a great bedroom in the annex next door with a superb view over the Solent, and could watch the ships and boats. Great breakfast. Our bathroom however was not good; it was small and awkward to access. Using the loo meant sitting among the towels on the rail. The shower was in the bath with no grab handles so risky to access and with poor water pressure.
The hotel is so sumptuous with an eclectic range of furniture and memorabilia of sailing and life gone by. Such fabulous views from glorious windows. Clean and luxurious and comfortable.Great communication. What a wonderful place to experience as part of our walking holiday. In a quiet area of West Cowes
Too short a stay!!!
Excellent host and freindly staff. Delicious breakfast. Amazing views over the Solent.
Kind, friendly people with great local knowledge.Great breakfast!
Beautiful location close to town. The room overlooking the sea was comfortable, spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent
My wife and I were very well looked after by Margaret, the owner. She was friendly, kind and considerate, and seemed to appreciate a chat. The room was excellent, despite the squeaky floorboards. The breakfasts were superb, and the cooked portion produced quickly. Margaret gave us dinner on our first evening, despite not normally providing dinner in the off-season. Altogether, a very pleasant experience, and we would have no hesitation in staying again. Thank you, Margaret!
The radiator and towel rail in the bathroom should have been on. It wasn't. Got round that issue by moving the electric connector heater briefly from the bedroom into the bathroom. It reached from an electric socket in the bedroom.
A hotel with a heck of a lot personality. Filled with antiques and a great bar! Margaret was incredibly helpful with ideas for a day on the Isle.
We liked the relaxed approach and historical nautical references over the house. Lovely host, amazing breakfast, charming house.
shower pressure was low
Super breakfast, comfortable clean room, and staff couldn't have been more helpful - offered us a lift into town, and phoned our client to check if road works had finished.
Amazing hotel, very quirky and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and room was lovely and warm on a cold and windy day. Amazing cooked breakfast too.
Villa Rothsay is my favourite hotel I have stayed at in the UK.It's beautiful, the rooms were lovely, the staff were really nice and so helpful and we loved the breakfast! I will definitely stay there next time I visit my friends on the Isle of Wight.
