    Pros +

    • Location was great, the town and Shanklin Chine and Beach were in close reach by foot. Our room was lovely and the bunk beds are a great design to maximise on floor space. Hot tub was a lovely added touch. Bar and cocktails were great, we could have spent ages in the retro games room and our son loved the play room. There are so many additional features to this hotel that gives a great balance for adults and children. Huge shout-out to Cathy who was wonderful with our 2 year old he absolutely adored her.
    • Breakfast was ok.
    • Friendly staff

    Cons -

    • Staff were clearly discriminatory. On day one I was given a table by their staff for breakfast which was sea facing. It was for two persons and I was with my daughter. 10 mins after one staff and told us to move to inside saying it is lunch time (@10am). Strange, they did not mention other people who were sitting in the area. Even a daily was sitting for next one hour in the sea facing area and cleared table along with us. Same thing also happened next day, even I was alone. It is difficult to believe that it happened accidentally. I’m not sure it happened because of the skin colour. Horrible booking experience. I filtered and booked a sea-facing room with double bed for 2 adults and one 2 year old child. On reaching the property they provided with a twin bedded property without any sea facing. Worst part they also charged me for my daughter’s breakfast saying she is not included in the room (even if we did not order for the child and breakfast was included in the stay). Even if I put a complaint to booking.com, I have not heard even after one week. Would not recommend.
    • Noisy overnight. Basic room.
    • Slightly better bacon

Lovely room and beautiful gardens to wander round . Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious and the view was amazing .

My relaxing swim in the pool was spoiled by children and parents jumping and diving in so I didn't stay long . I know the hotel wants to welcome families but mabee soE adult only time would be a good idea .

Fantastic stay. The staff make you feel very special, nothing too much trouble. The location is wonderful, the sea view from the gardens, on a sunny morning, is very beautiful. Our room was large, light, clean and comfortable. Breakfast delicious, room service (evening takeaway) was spot on, and very reasonably priced. Our 4th visit (normally Luccombe Manor next door - sister hotel), and we’ll be back again soon

The garden was beautifulDidn't like the room, located on the 2nd floor accessible via a steep staircase. Appalling. Also, there is no access from the hotel to the seaside. You would think you would be advised by the front staff on arrival

It was clean, the staff were very welcoming and a good quality of toiletries . Our balcony and sea view was beautiful

Noisy floorboards from the room above kept us awake

We arrived very late but still were able to check and get a drink in the bar. Breakfast was really good too.

Pillows were not very good and need replacing with at Lear a non man-made one each

Great location with amazing views. Great food, both the breakfast and the dinners we had in the evening. And the swimming pool and hot tub were great too!

The bed was comfortable. The staff were really pleasant and helpful (apart from one see below) Free EV car charging was a real positive and really helpful!!

Our room (15) was small, tired and noisy and overlooked a storage yard. You could hear the people next doors having a conversation. The fridge was so noisy we had to unplug it. The spa area was nice except the Hot Tub was cool and the bubbles hardly worked. There was also a lady with 5 children running around playing and kicking a rugby ball around. When I mentioned it I was told, oh they have just come and paid to use it!! The breakfast was nice except the waiter that took my order didn’t ask how I wanted my eggs and didn’t offer me black pudding which the offer staff were doing. When I ask him he said you should have asked for black pudding!!! We had a special deal but it still wasn’t worth the cost.

Breakfast and dinner was good. The staff were excellent. Our room had a lovely sea view. Hotel was a short walk from pubs, restaurants etc.c though quite hilly area, so may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

The games room , the pool and jacuzzi and the beautiful scenery

    The food wasn't very good

    7PatriciaPosted on: 2-14-2025

Excellent breakfast. Very good selection. I asked for scrambled eggs which wasn’t on the menu and they obliged wholeheartedly. Lovely indoor pool.

It would be nice if there was massage opportunity on site.
