    Pros +

    • Nothing, do not book here during COVID
    • The location and its historical feel were great. It stands in the town center which is very close to the sea side and to the ferry which made it very easy for us to get in and out with ease. The pub is a quaint English pub with great food and reasonably priced drinks. Everyone we met working in the pub was friendly and as helpful as they could be. The bed in room 6 was very comfortable and the view of the see was lovely.
    • Breakfast was good both days!

    Cons -

    • Was still charged the full price of my hotel despite announcement of new COVID restrictions placing the area where I live as well as the area where the hotel is located in tier 4 and 3 respectively, and cancelling 7 days in advance
    • We stayed in room number 6 our first night which is on the top/attic floor with slanted ceiling. The highest part of the room was 1.85 meters high and that was the space that smoke alarm and chandeliers were positioned. We tried to book the “king sized” room when we reserved because I’m 2 meters tall, but because of the height of the room we were given, I had to move around the room crouched, constantly hitting my head on the ceilings and fixtures, including when I sat on the toilet. Additionally, there was an odd plumbing event when sink in the bathroom made loud bubbling noises in the morning that was followed by a very off putting smell that lingered. The staff couldn’t give us another room that night because they were fully booked. The property was able to accommodate a room change for the second night of our stay, but the next room wasn’t great either as it had a disgusting smell coming from the shower drain anytime we used it. We appreciate the effort of the staff to accommodate the room change, but sadly the set up of room 6 and the smell of room 4 leaves us not keen to recommend stays in them.
    • For some bizarre reason the radiator was on upstairs and the place was already crazy hot due to weather. Response from landlord when asked to turn it off was 'its on a timer' then when the guy left the comment was...don't know what he wants me to do, not like he is sleeping near it.The hot air has to go somewhere.

So peaceful. Great location near the water.

Check in was confusing as they couldn’t find my reservation.

Style of the room and size were lovely and great location.

The room just needed a really good clean.Dusty light fittings, hairs in the bath and on the bedside table. Dusty skirting boards. Down the side of the wardrobe I don’t think has been cleaned since it was decorated.

A real cracking hidden gem. We travelled from Ireland to visit family on the Island, and from stepping in the door we received a very warm welcome. The room was beautiful and so comfortable, and a great shower with shampoo and body wash that would rival spa products. Everything you need is there. We had the breakfast which came with our room and it was wonderful. Everything cooked fresh, and all exceptional products. 10/10. Thank you for having us!

    We didn't have any complaints.

The room was clean and organised, the view was amazing especially with the seagulls in the morning. The staffs were very polite. The breakfast was very good and my family enjoyed the stay

Things that may be could improve is the waiting time on ordering food.As my children wanted more but the queue was too long.It would be nice to have a toilet brush in the bathroom.

I and my family stayed at the Union Inn for a couple of nights. The hotel and restaurant bar met our expectations, hotel cleanliness and perfect size of the rooms are great. The staff and owner were very friendly; they accommodated us nicely. Also, the location of the hotel is superb, very central; the food and breakfast we really enjoyed; it was excellent value and delicious, owner should be proud and the place is very recommendable.

Nothing we don't liked, the place is perfect and recommendable
