- Spa and pool
- Location and breakfast
- The hotel looks lovely upon entry. The room was really nice (appearance) The bathroom was nice and cleanThe tea in the room was decent
Cons -
- No fridge in the room But if I have to be picky
- Not friendly staff, old interiors, no fridge in the room
- On my arrival I couldn’t check in very easily as no staff trained on check in’s was there. They handled it really well though and checked me in, in due course. When I got to my room I wanted to go straight to bed, I took the throw off and opened the duvet, it was stained really badly with something that looked like blood so I removed it, then saw this was also the case for the mattress protector and removed that too and discovered the mattress looked absolutely disgusting. I slept on the bare mattress as no housekeeping my staff were available.

The bedroom and bathroom were clean. The hotel setting, including restaurant was good with a nice lake out the front.
When the hotel was built it was clearly well thought through with good facilities being established. However there appears to have been a period of underinvestment, particularly in the spa (which was a key reason for our visit). The seating facilities and outside area looked old. However my main complaint was the lack of cleanliness, there were two dirty plasters poolside, the loungers were all wet, some with pools of water on them making it difficult to find somewhere to relax. There were also two aromatherapy saunas outside which did not smell of the lavender advertised, rather smelt of dirty feet. I have visited many spas and this was definitely the most grubby and disappointing.
Room was clean and comfortable. And the overall area was good
They can add toothpaste in toilet, pool should be available for all the time for guests
Lovely setting, amazing views, lovely staff very welcoming.
Management in restaurant the younger staff seemed more experienced and co didn’t in delivering a request I had made due to time constraints of having the food on the table soon as they open.
The spa area was clean and relaxing
Restaurant vegetarian options are not very appealing.
Bed very big and comfortable, breakfast good ,coffee crap. Spa treatments was awesome..
Having to order fried eggs and wait 25 minutes ,to only get half the order asked for..by then i had eaten my breakfast..apart from that i had a very enjoyable stay..thankyou ..
The location is beautiful and easy to get to from the mainland. The checking in process was straight forward. The spa was easy to get to with towels provided.
There was limited time for the children to use the pool. The sauna and steam room were tepid. The breakfast was good but as a vegan the options were limited and the beans and eggs were located side by side with the spoons being shared for the items meaning not edible if you’re allergic to eggs. The staff were polite but less friendly than one would expect
We absolutely loved everything, it was clean and all the facilities were amazing. You could just improve in welcoming guests and showing them their room and how everything in the rooms work , we found it difficult to use some of the things in the rooms e.g switching on the lights and AC and the room phone aswell. As for the swimming pools, if you could arrange that if its kids time no adults are allowed except for the kids and their parents and when kids time is over can go without any disturbances
Great location and friendly staff. Bedroom and spa need updating. Sauna not working on our visit of three days.
Rooms are comfortable and of good size . Breakfast is buffet style which is plentiful cereal pastry fresh fruit full English or continental (no meats or cheeses) or order fresh cookedSpa kids are limited to pool only nice facilities 3 saunas (only 2 in working conditions) hot tub (external) jacuzzi steam room all great for relaxation there are also treatments (which I didn't try but seems really good options) fresh supplies of towels slippers gowns Excellent food in the Brasserie in the evening tasty well presented and a great selection of alcohol wines beers and spirits. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient .The grounds are a great space with a magnificent lake.
Being picky the maintenance of the decor we stayed on the 1st floor the stairs handlebar on the stairs was loose. In the spa feet on the sofas broken. Bedroom lock on the bathroom didn't work (room 21) it didn't effect our stay at all
The location near the Lake is beautiful but half of the rooms face the hotel’s large car park. It was nice to have free coffee/tea and biscuits in the room. The brasserie food was great and the restaurant overlooks the lake and garden, which is nice. The spa facilities are good but it can get quite busy in the swimming pool.
We got a room with a view of the car park, which was very disappointing. The rooms are all the same size even if you upgrade for a more expensive one and they are all tatty but clean. The reception staff was not very helpful when we tried to upgrade the room.
Cleaning was not enough, Lambs of light was broken Breakfast was not good enough
The hotel room, free spa and breakfast were good. Especially the location of the hotel was excellent.
Unfortunately, there was no cold shower/water in the spa area.
Breakfast was very good although could have had more fruit on offer, coffee lovely, toaster very easy to use. Staff always around to clear and helpSpa treatment was amazing, had full massageBed and pillows best I have had for a long time
Mensioned a couple of thing wrong in the room ... lamp on desk not working and with no overhead lights this made it dim. We were there for a few days and not resolved
Lovely lake view, in the room and from the dining room. Enjoyed the use of the spa facilities after breakfast, although they did become busy later in the morning. Comfortable bed, nice relaxed atmosphere.
It was a nice hotel however slightly dated. Definitely has a lot more potential. The rooms for us were not really soundproof we could hear next doors tv and any noise. The breakfast was ok but some parts of it were disappointing. The spa is nice but not luxury as such . The staff were lovely however.
Noisy beds, paid £340 didn’t even provide slippers. Was waiting for kids to be picked up so took them into the spa, wasn’t told I would be charged if I took them in, then upon leaving nice little extra surprise £30, £25 for 2 kids to chill in the spa for an hour and £5 for slippers. Disgraceful. Won’t be staying there again.
The staff were excellent, really helpful and friendly. The room was great and the breakfast was excellent
