The Mariner Hotel

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, with a lovely bathroom. The breakfast was delicious! There was a sitting room which was helpful as my husband was working, so he had somewhere quiet to work, with a fantastic view>

More space in the bathroom to place our toiletry bags.

The location and the views.The staff were helpful and friendly.

The property is dated and shabby. If can look beyond that, it has its own charm, I suppose.Trying to contact the property is virtually impossible. Tried numerous times to ring in the days before the visit and even an emailed - no response. The Anchor up the road, however, answered immediately so they got our Sunday lunch order for 8.The Anchor was super busy, the food excellent and service professional.

Lovely hotel . Family run they can’t do enough for you . Wonderful view from hotel and our room highly recommended it .Food was great too special thanks to everyone xx

Not a thing ???

The staff were warm and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. We had dinner one evening and it was delicious. Loved the location close to the sea with beautiful views. We had a spectacular sunset one evening.

Breakfast was good, view and location excellent! Rooms are a little bit tired but ok! Staff were excellent and food was good ??

Breakfast was excellent plates were hot and the food was too. Cereal, toast fresh orange juice. Pot of tea or coffee. Plenty of choices of spreads for your toast, Followed a cooked breakfast which was 2 rashers of bacon and a sausage and tomatoes and beans and a hash brown.There was a bowl of fruit and yoghurts on offer. I certainly didn’t need any lunch after such a feed. Service was excellent and David and Ang were lovely people that made you feel welcome.

Maybe a choice of black pudding or tattie scone or a hash brown could please peoplle. But for me it was grand.

Location and friendly staff

A couple of tub chairs in the bedroom would be much more comfortable to sit on rather than hard basket seats

The Mariner Hotel has a wonderful location. We were made to feel welcome and the dog was not a problem.

Welcoming and friendly staff, comfortable good sized room, good car parking, good food on site, great location for visiting Kippford and Rockcliffe on foot.

The staff were tremendous and couldn't do enough for our walking group. From our arrival to departure Tom, Dave, Ang & Carol were so friendly and obliging, which really made a significant difference to ensuring our walking trip was such a special few days away whilst based in the beautiful scenic Kippford. We've told all our walking friends what a fantastic place The Mariner is to stay and they all want to join us when we do it again next year!

There is nothing to complain about!

An ideal hotel for a short break. Staff were very welcoming, and the food was very good.

We prefer a fairly dark room for sleeping, and were disappointed that there were only vertical blinds at the windows that let a lot of light through from the streetlights outside.

The location and views were stunning . The staff friendly and helpful . Our roomW as spacious and very comfortable with excellent breakfast freshly cooked.

We couldn’t fault the service or accommodation.
