About
Built in 1761, Ednam House Hotel combines the convenience of a Kelso town center location with the luxury of three acres of riverside gardens to explore, providing a mix of homely relaxation, fine dining and the warmest of welcomes. There is free parking on-site. Ednam is a stately Georgian country house, its grand history is evident throughout: ornate plasterwork ceilings, carved doors, fireplaces and stone work crafted by the finest artisans of the late 1700s. The 33 guest bedrooms, many with fine river views, offer everything you need for a perfect night’s rest and a comfortable stay. Each bedroom has been individually styled and features the finest Egyptian cotton bedlinen, flat screen television, direct-dial telephone, free superfast WIFI and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. If you prefer a traditional home-cooked meal, then the Lounge Bar at the heart of the hotel is a relaxing space to enjoy a range of hearty dishes like locally-caught fish and hand-cut chips or a warming coq au vin with a leisurely drink or two at the end of the day. Ednam House also serves a delicious range of afternoon teas with gluten-free.

Cons -
- Shower pressure was poor
- One Non resident took up space for six people in front of the fire in one of the reception rooms for the duration of the stay! Very difficult to understand why the hotel let them do this. The bar area was very poor/ down market. Wine by the glass awful! Breakfast very hit and miss! Dinner poor.

Another great stay in this lovely property. The room was spacious, comfortable and very warm over a cold weekend. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly and went out of her way to help us. The location is perfect for an event in Kelso and you just can’t beat his place for value for money. We will be back!!

It was like an old family home…cosy with open fires. Very comfortable beds. Lovely warm bathroom.
Water pressure was rather weak in the shower.
Hotel wlfelt homely in a great central location but still nice and peaceful, staff were lovely and friendly and we really enjoyed the added touch of the real fireplace on at nighttime, will definetly be back again
Generally the breakfast was good however on one day the sausage was not good. The staff serving the breakfast were outstanding, they were helpful, knowledgeable and kind
We have stayed a few times now, room was lovely, food first class, all the staff are very friendly, Margaret on reception looks after us.
Quite relaxing hotel room large ,bed clean.Staff helpful and friendly.Breakfast good.
It's looking a little bit tired.Overall clean but you could smell wee around the toilet even though it looked clean?
The staff were lovely and helpful. Always with a smile on their faces
The hotel is a little dated, yes it’s a period hotel but it just felt a little tired. Having a drink in the bar felt like an inconvenience as there wasn’t enough staff on. We clock watched a man wait over 20minutes to be served. The room advertised wasn’t quite what we got but it was nice enough.
Location was superb. Hotel was lovely. Bed was comfy and staff were friendly and looked after us. Food was good
Nothing was disliked
Great location! Lovely, clean and roomy rooms with everything we needed! Lots of lovely communal spaces too!
Although a bit dated the property is in a fantastic location. It was very clean and comfortable.
Great property , welcoming staff, cosy room , great atmosphere

I am becoming a regular guest after work it saves me a drive home when I have had a hard day. I was in a really large room on this stay with a lovely free srand bath and fulk shower. I had a king sized bed which appears to ve standard. I again had dinner and drinjs with a friend in the bar service is friendly the food is really good. I looked this time at the main menu for the dining room and will ask can these be served in the bar if not might try that menu next stay. Cant fault the Ednam the fire place in the foyer was blazing when I arrived and at 630 am when I left.
Nothing perfect stayb
Great location in the heart of Kelso and handy for shops, bars & restaurants. The hotel is a traditional building which is kept in great condition with plenty cosy fires in lounges. The breakfast was terrific and great value for the price. We had a loft room which was fine for us and was nice and private with a king size bed, large bathroon and well equipped for all our needs. The staff were all very welcoming helpful and friendly. We will be back again in the future
Pleasant surroundings and staff.
The main areas were not well heated therefore difficult to feel relaxed meal on first evening excellent second evening very poor and tasteless.
