    Pros +

    • Breakfast was good with lots of choice.
    • The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were an absolute credit to the hotel. So kind, asked about our evening and went above and beyond. We were at a concert in Edinburgh so got back very late, one of our party decided to miss breakfast and sleep more, the lady serving insisted we get something for her, offered so much and organised a bacon sandwich for us to take with us so she wouldn't go hungry. Such a sweet gesture. The breakfast was delicious, literally one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had (and there's been a few haha). Very much recommend the eggs florentine and the veggie breakfast!!! We are not one for repeat visits as we like exploring new places, but we are definitely going to organise a little trip back so we can stay again.
    • Clean, quite location food excellent , room very comfortable

    Cons -

    • Our room was very small at the top of the house. No bath only a small shower. The hotel is a beautiful old mansion with a lovely orangerie bot slightly overpoering for a stopover stay of one night. A great venue for a function.
    • The only thing even worth mentioning is there was a patch of paint flaking in the bathroom. But for the price we paid, the beautiful building and the standard of service we received its not something that bothered us at all.
    • Car park few crack pot holes and loose stones

Comfortable room. Off-road parking. Excellent breakfast with a good choice from full "English" to other more sophisticated options such as Eggs benedict.

The room radiators could have been switched on in advance of our coming into the room but it was unseasonably cold for early May, so not a problem usually May through September

Staff were excellent, very high customer service. They were a real asset to the Hotel. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Food was fantastic. Really enjoyed our stay.

The decoration in the hotel was a bit tired looking however the staff kept it spotlessly clean so it did not affect my stay

Lovely old building. Room was a good size and clean. Breakfast was very good and evening meal was first class. A lot of stairs os could be a problem for someone with mobility issues.

The bed was not very comfortable.
