    Pros +

    • room was lovely, clean, had everything i needed and staff were lovely. gave me paracetamol when i told them i had a huge headache!
    • The Crowwood didn't disappoint. It was our third time of staying and it gave us exactly what we expected. Nothing fancy, but welcoming, clean and efficient. The new breakfast menu is a break with the traditional options as well. Good on them for trying something different!
    • Comfortable warm room & good shower

    Cons -

    • it was in the middle of nowhere but still easy to reach with a bus, and it wasn't at all sound proof (i heard everything from every room), but that was it!!
    • There is a beautiful restaurant at this hotel that serves great food, unfortunately when I checked in at 8pm during my stay they had decided to close the restaurant early as it was quiet, so I had to pick up a takeaway from along the street and eat in the room. The rear of the hotel was a little unkept with rubbish laying around which is a shame is it offers views over the golf course behind and has potential to be much nicer. The room itself was nice, warm, comfortable & had a nice shower room, however the room itself was a little scruffy with marks on the walls and quite a lot of cobwebs that had been missed by the cleaning staff. The TV reception also wasn’t great. Rooms have freeview televisions, but most channels were breaking up. There is a really strange system in place where after checking in you have to go and request a remote for your tv in your room and must return it to reception at checkout (as per the laminated sign stuck to the bedroom wall with draining pins stated). Never came across that before. Not an issue, just thought was a little naff and made the place feel a little downgrade like a cheap b&b.
    • My brother in room 28 commented the bed was very hard but other than that we had 5 rooms in total no other comments

Restaurants was very good as was the waterfall shower

There was nothing in the shower to hold your shampoo or body wash. The floor outside the shower in tye bathroom creaked. Some of the TV channels BBC were breaking up.The 6 steps down to room 6 passage way needs a hand rail To prevent someone having a fall.

Lovely room, warm, clean and spacious

Breakfasts, lunch and early evening food and bar, but nothing later, a small lounge with snacks and pod coffees on sale from reception would be a great addition !

Excellent facilities very clean and rooms are spacious and bed was comfortable staff friendly and welcoming

Genuinely nothing. Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had.

The room we stayed in had a door to the next room that was blocked by a chair. I could hear every single thing the people were doing next door. The staff were out in the car park behind the hotel making some amount of noise at 8am. The carpet was dirty, the ‘double room’ was two twin beds pushed together with a big pillow or something separating the two beds. One tiny pillow on each side of the bed.

When we arrived not feeling well the room was cold. I went and asked for help with the heater and they couldn't get it to work either. They had us moved to a huge room and we was able to relax and get to feeling better.

Nice comfortable room and bed. Good shower. OnGround floor.

Because of the time of year, I should have known there would be no breakfast.

    10NoreenPosted on: 1-5-2026

Staff was fantastic, friendly and very approachable. Hotel is basic but spotlessly clean, rooms warm on a very cold day. Would definitely stay again, great value for money.

    Everything was good thanks.

location was good for what we wanted to do

Beds were very firm! And no receptionist was available for 15 minutes. Had to ask staff from the restaurant for help

Everything was good, we've stayed here before, even in the same accessible room

It would have been nice to have had the option of breakfast (tho I appreciate it was christmas)Lack of a waiting/ resting area at or near reception

How clean the room was and how big and comfy the bed was the staff were so nice and polite and the restaurant next door the food was amazing

    8ChristinePosted on: 12-22-2025

    Step in bath/shower

Great room and comfortable bed. Restaurant on site.

Grumpy staff. Despite being asked if we wanted breakfast, when we turned up at the restaurant in the morning the kitchen was not open so no breakfast.

    10GailPosted on: 12-18-2025

Clean cosy with a lovely restaurant

    No sockets at bedside

    8GeraldinePosted on: 12-16-2025

Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely and bed was very comfy. Heaters could be switched off or turned down when I felt too warm.

Nothing. Everything was fine and met all of my expectations

    9AnnaPosted on: 12-7-2025

The hotel even though it is situated in an old building, is well maintained and has been renovated. It was clean and the room was of a comfortable size.

There is a lovely restaurant next to the hotel which is great but this results in a lot of traffic outside the room doors, late at night and people can occasionally be a bit too loud after a night out.
