The stay was good nice pub down the stairs and friendly and knowledgeable on the area staff over all a good stay

The floor in the room could have been cleaned a little better as there was a spillage of juice on the floor from the previous person which our shoes stuck to when we entered. No option for breakfast as the food hall didn't open till 12

Staff were friendly and informative and a warm welcome .

Although there was a bar downstairs and the staff member said there was a band on that night and the bar closed at 1am I wasn't too worried as I can sleep through anything and was going out for a few beers anyway so it wasn't an issue, but what I didn't expect was noise going on till 3 am, so really only got a couple of hours sleep as I was up at 5 am. The room itself was basic not an issue itself but the TV was missing from the wall bracket Although helpfully the remote control was still in the room and the Internet signal on my phone was nonexistent so TV would have been good .The tea and coffee-making facilities were there but I didn't use them the kettle was on the floor as that was where the plug was no biggie really. The bed was comfortable enough although it felt a bit lumpy .I think the price at £65 for a Sunday night was high for what it was , although there are a lot of facilities close by. Would I stay again, probably not but would visit the hotel's bar and restaurant . As a closing though the pictures of the room are nothing like what you actually get.

Bad

The rooms are disgusting as if couples could rent out per hour. When I cancelled the booking on inspection of the premises, they still took the full amount of £90.00 off my account. I contacted them personally to request a refund but was refused. Why does booking.com have organisations like this on their books.

Poor state, overpriced and unkept

Shower room was unclean, rooms are inadequate and over priced, poor bedding, no hot water etc.Price should be half what we payed. Left a night early and refused refund, wouldn’t stay it’s a dump.

good location, had a bar atatched.

no towels or soap in the bathroom, staff in the bar not very welcoming.

4LeannePosted on: 9-21-2025

Location is great and so is the restaurant downstairs

We had a twin room with shared bathroom. The beds had very thin mattresses which was very unfortunate and seriously let the property down. The ceiling appeared to peeling. No soap for sink in bathroom or at our sink in the bedroom.

4MaryPosted on: 9-20-2025

Good central location on the main street with parking on site. Staff were helpful

The room was tired and needs a complete refurb. There were holes in the sink surround and cobwebs hanging in the room. The TV wasn't working and no access to internet.

2GeoffPosted on: 9-17-2025

The bedding was clean, apart from that Nothing!

The welcome from the person that ran the bar and checked us in wasn’t too friendly! The stair carpet was filthy and a trip hazard, the wash hand basin in single room no9 was not good (Photo) the toilet seat was too small and badly fitting ( photo), the toilet door dirty! No towels in double room! No tv remote in single room!

The location was good at the bottom end of Loch Lomond

The room was very small and the bathroom basic. We only stayed one night so it was OK. My wifeis gluten free and the Chef did not seem to have any idea what that was so we ate elsewhere.

Very Poor

Room looked nothing like the pictures. Listing does not mention that the rooms are directly above a very loud bar, with thudding music until midnight every night, even midweek. Could hear guests snoring in adjacent rooms. No toiletries provided except for a small bar of hand soap. No hot water in the sink in the room, only in the shared bathroom. Very uncomfortable beds.

Horrible

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration regarding the recent handling of our stay at your hotel. The issues we faced were not only inconvenient but also demonstrated a shocking lack of responsibility and customer care.During our stay, we entrusted the hotel with essential medical supplies that required refrigeration. We were assured that these items would be kept secure and properly stored. However, upon our departure, we were horrified to discover that the materials had been lost.To make matters worse, when the items were finally located, we were already away from the area. We requested that you ship the medical supplies to us, as it was impossible for us to return. This is where the situation became completely unacceptable. Your staff outright refused to assist us, citing a policy that prevented them from shipping items.Over the next few days, our attempts to resolve this with a manager were met with continuous excuses. We were repeatedly told that the manager was not available and that no one else could assist us. This constant evasion and lack of accountability are frankly astounding. It's difficult to believe that a business of your caliber operates without a management structure capable of handling such a serious issue. The hotel's failure to safeguard our medical materials, followed by the refusal to help us retrieve them, has caused significant distress. We chose your hotel trusting that you would provide a safe and reliable service, and you have failed on every level.

they have stopped doing breakfast

no tv no hot water. .everything looked scruffy and downtrodden asked for £60 deposit for damage---the place falling apart anyway

1StephenPosted on: 9-13-2025

absolutely nothing

everything, the beds were uncomfortable there is one toilet and one shower toilet for 18 rooms.the doors on the rooms did not self close and mechanisms not attached clearly a breach of fire regulations. the place stank to high heaven this was booked by accident but by the time we realised could not alter it. to describe this as a hotel is misrepresentation, the satnav described it otherwise. the description a hole should be preceded by another four latter word beginning in s and ending in t. they took a £60 deposit per room as one of my associates stated how could you do that much dame to the room the sinks were already cracked, no-one could get hot water in their rooms, you would not offer this to a rough sleeper. Disgusting.

Pub downstairs was a great bonus. We loved darts board. Carpark was big as well. Location pretty good, very close to the station.

Our room was modern and beds comfortable. Cleaningness of the room could be better, toilet & bathroom wasn't cleaned properly after previous guests. No toilet roll, no hand soap, no toilet brush, no bathroom mat. Room was booked for three of us but only two towels provided. When asked for a hand antibacterial soap lady said that there is one in the shower. Later when we checked it was also empty, hence asked at the reception again. Another lady said that she will report it to housekeeping. We left after two nights and it still wasn't provided.
