Comfy bed and great shower! Beautiful public rooms, lounge, pool table, entrance hall. Historical with period features.

- Beds were comfortable and the room was slightly small but it did not bother us as we were not there much.

Very spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy
The location was ideal for us, the pictures of the outside of the building look great. I have visited many of these older buildings which have been made into Hotels and this was one of the nicer Hotels. For us we only really wanted bed and a breakfast and i now realise that is all they currently provide. I guess in the past they have had a fancy restaurant and a spa but these are not in operation when we visited - Jan 26.The breakfast was very nice, freshly cooked and hot. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The room was very well serviced and clean. It was a short walk to many different restaurants in Elgin centre and a short drive to see some of the sites around Elgin. Thanks to all the staff for making it an enjoyable weekend.
Beds were comfortable and the room was slightly small but it did not bother us as we were not there much.
Room very pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast excellent and catered for individual choices.Staff were amazing, very very helpful, friendly and attentive.Billy and the restaurant staff in particular.
Fantastic staff, nothing was a problem. Room was clean, spacious and c/w a huge bed and excellent Shower. Good selection for Breakfast food cooked to order, tasty and plentiful.
The hotel is very welcoming. The staff extremely attentive and happy to chat with you or help. Clearly all very happy to be working at the hotel. The hotel was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast is outstanding!
Convenient
The hotel is partially shut down. Spa and restaurant shut. Heating is turned off in lounge. Bedroom was freezing. It is very sad.
Fantastic old property with lots of character
That I only stayed for 1 night
It was a pleasant stay nice and quiet, breakfast was lovely.
We didnt get told till after booking that the spa wasn't open and neither was the restaurant. The room could do with updating although they were clean they had stains on the headboard we're people heads have been and carpets had stains in quite a lot of places
After a 10 hour drive to get there with heavy snow for the latter part of the journey the staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming! It was a last minute booking (I hour before check in).The bar was closed and no evening meal options (it was 2100 hours). The staff gladly still served us drinks and the chef went and made us delicious hot soup and bread (he was off duty). The breakfast in the morning was fabulous and once again the staff were exceptionally attentive. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were really comfortable.
The building is beautiful but very tired, and in need of some TLC but this was more than made up for by the service. As stated above although a little shabby it's clean and comfortable.
The building was amazing but unloved, which is a shame as it has massive potential to be a superb hotel. AmpleParking and location great.
It lacked facilities. Bar open 6pm - 9pm only. Meals hit and miss except breakfast, that was amazing. Manager only available from 3pm -9pm, you can recognise him from wearing his green outdoor jacket at all times,no staff available after breakfast, left to your own devices. Not a hotel but rather a room to rent. Very dark, a lot of lights not working. An amazing house but needs a lot of TLC. Stains on carpets everywhere. It’s such a shame because the potential is there. A very run down grand hotel which was a time gone by.So sad as I would have returned.
It was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful historic building such as this.
All of the facilities such as gym sauna etc, where closed.
Great old classic place awesome 4 poster beds with black out curtains and great breakfast room was a bit dark and shower could have been a bit hotter but walk to town easy friendly staff
Old Scottish ambiance. Loved the room. Really enjoyed the breakfast.
It would benefit from double glazing.
Location, size of bed, character, staff (although few) friendly and helpful
Room was a little cold and thin duvet.
The breakfasts were good and the location was convenient for our family.
Dinner should be more available in a hotel such as this.
the location was good for what we wanted. staff were very good too.
The dinner was not brilliant could have been better.
Great location and very friendly dining room staff!
The cooked breakfasts have gone down hill since Chef David left.
