- Booked for two nights stayed...
- Centre of town good location
- Clean room but very dated.
Cons -
- The room the breakfast was terrible egg were burnt bacon dry nothing good,I went to breakfast at 8.15.
- Terrible bath ran downhill shower in bath awkward with shower curtain .beds uncomfortable i1 bed had no headboard .room noisy on main road.parking for motorbikes around side of hotel out of view.breakfast not the best
- Looking forward to a full Scottish breakfast but very disappointed. Sausages.,hashbrown and scrambled eggs were awful. No other choice of eggs, black pudding, haggis slice etc just what we look forward to like we have had in other stays in the far north. Coffee was disgusting. Dated rooms are acceptable when you get a decent breakfast especially paying over £100 a night. Check out is 11pm but twice before 9am cleaning staff knocking at our door to see if we were leaving. Definitely wouldn't return. Plus sliding door in bathroom was partially off hinges.

I liked the price, the fact there was parking, free WiFi and the staff were very friendly
The hotel appears to have seen it's heyday and is trying to limp onwards. I'm sure it makes decent money from coach trips, at least, I hope it does. By the money could be well spent on beautifying the hotel to make it at least appear, to be cared for.
The staff are extra helpful, pleasant and nice, we were doing the NC500 cycle route when the remans of a hurricane hit and we had to abandon our campsite, the staff found a lockup for our bikes and made us feel super welcome, the staff are the hotel and a credit to the organisation and the town
The fixtures and fittings are getting a little bit sad, but for what we paid it’s exceptionally good value
It was central in thurso. Easy access to town.
Room door didn't lock. Wallpaper hanging off the walls. No lift and it took 10 min from reception to get my suitcase up stairs and along corridors. No one would help us. Will never be back.
Staff were lovely. Value for money. Old coaching hotel. Faded glory! But comfortable bed and very clean.
Location,cleanliness.
Parts of the building were quite tired.
Staff
Shame not to be in the front room. 9am close is way to early especially on a Sunday so will look for a different hotel on next trip as eg premier inn serves until 11am. Quality was ok but lots of things not there at 8.45am ,
Location
Electric shower in room did not work. Could not get a tea or coffee at 9:30pm for friends that came to visit me at the hotel. Told bar was closing at 10pm
Staff friendly. Plenty of parking
The bathroom needs updating
Clean and tidy. Food good.
Could do with a upgrade looked dated.
Nice room, good location.
Awful breakfast.
Staff & location
Dinner food was very variable mac'n cheese had no cheese coffee was poor plates were cold
Great staff and location. Parking in centre of the town. Breakfast was a complete hot breakfast.
It is a long way up many stairs to our room from the carpark.
Well located, clean and comfortable!
Decor is a bit dated but didn't bother us as we were only there as a stopover!
It was a good central location
Hotel is very tired needs a lot of investment, staff could do with a lot of training apart from the lady that served as on reception not sure if she was the manager but she was absolutely fantastic very friendly and helpful and she would get 5 stars it was everyone else that let it down. Hotel had had a very musty smell and our room stunk of damp I had to go out and buy an air freshener for the second night, think shower had been leaking so bath panel had blown out and floor next to it was rotten. Hair dryer in room worked for 3 seconds then stopped, breakfast not great selection and cooked breakfast was cold. To be fair was quite cheap but stayed in much better for same price
We had a very nice room with comfy bed, good size TV etc
Wi fi in the room was very poor,Also breakfast pretty poor, and very limited selection, but there was a nice we Bakers shop nearby, which done a nice bacon roll,So made the disappointment of hotel breakfast easier to accept
Great location Clean Great service and food
Lack of parking Poor wifi in the roomTv is too old and small screen
The room was warm and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate but there was no musli, which for me would be a staple necessity.
The carpets on stairs and in corridors need to be cleaned. The food available in the bar was basic.
