Breakfast, room service, friendly staff and revolving doors...

Centrally located for shops, entertainment, transport links. Friendly staff, fresh filling breakfast with hot & cold options. Spacious, comfortable, clean & quiet rooms, even when facing onto road.
Nothing much, everything I was looking for was met. Building is old and could do with some TLC but it doesn't affect your stay.
Good location. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food (dinner & breakfast) was decent. Our room was very quiet, and the beds were comfy.
The place has clearly seen better days and feels a bit run down. The restaurant, bar, and corridors were all very cold (had to wear a scarf to dinner!) while our room was too hot (the heater wouldn't turn off and we had to leave a window open). No working fan in the bathroom, either.
It was great very comfy bed and good value
The breakfast could’ve been warmer. The room could’ve been warmer too but was only one night we stayed
Their communication through booking.com was hacked, which led me to receive requests for additional bank information.
The receptionist was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable.
Handy for the train station, 5 minutes walk.
The price for a glass of red wine £9. that equates to around £27 for a bottle which probably cost about £5 in a supermarket.
The bath was good, bed was comfy
Breakfast could have been better
Location is great. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
It’s dated.
The location was good. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I arrived at the hotel, and they had no room for me, even though I had confirmed my arrival date change with the manager through Booking.com. I showed the confirmation to the receptionist, who questioned whether I was arriving on the correct day. They first offered to move me to another hotel 5 miles from downtown, which I declined. They then offered a hotel near the train station at their expense, and I accepted. I returned to the Pentland Hotel the following day for one-night stay. The room was a good size, but the furniture showed noticeable signs of wear and tear.
The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was good evening buffet and breakfast both.We travelled up from Clydebank to Thurso. We were there to attend my wee sisters funeral. The Purvey for the Funeral was also at the Pentland The Staff handled this emotional time with sensitivity. The food was good too.
Better pillows.
breakfast was poor, some items were just look warm, some were not cooked very well, toaster was terrible, one side burnt and the other side practically raw.
dinner in the bar was not very good, cheap prices but poor quality
The staff were exceptional! We had arrived late after a crash then there was a power cut. They couldn't have been more kind and helpful if they tried. They really made us feel better. The food was great.
The room was unfortunately a little unclean. We had moved a bed to get something that fell and it was quite dirty behind. The shower head was a dual one for the bath and it was quite poor, not much power and difficult to get the right mix of hot and cold from the taps. There was a dirty teaspoon in beside the kettle and no hand soap at the sink. The place looks a little unloved and could do with a freshen up.
Nice stay, but heater not working and nobody responded when I called and no one was on reception around 9.30 pm to adjust heaters issue.
Spacious bedroom, clean, comfortable & with renovated en-suite. Tasty & filling breakfast with good variety of hot & cold food. Close to centre of town & public transportation.
Nothing really, all boxes ticked & no issues.
Great central location in Thurso. Friendly staff and good service. We liked the vintage character and vibe. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. We had breakfast included in our room rate and they usually serve a buffet style cooked breakfast but we stayed here out of season (November) so it was quiet and they made us a cooked to order breakfast. Very generous lots of options. We stayed on a Sunday night and they did a carvery dinner 3 courses for £21. Very good value and tasty food. Definitely recommend this hotel. Plenty of street parking nearby.
Nothing really.
The most welcoming staff Laura on reception was very friendly and would do anything to make your stay comfortable. Laura selected a very good playlist for us to listen to whilst enjoying drinks in the lounge. Breakfast staff were also very charming even at 630am in the morning Breakfast selection was also very good. Our dog was also made to feel like a VIP (Very Important Pooch) with treats, blanket and towel supplied in the room.
