    Pros +

    • People - very bright, proactive and friendly staff both in Reception and the restaurant/pub.
    • A country pub with a substantial accommodation business as well. It was very popular and I think they have a thing where guests are allowed dogs (don't quote me on this). There was no dog smell anywhere but there were a lot of dogs in the pub!
    • Great location.the restaurant food was really nice and staff were very helpful

    Cons -

    • Nothing could have stayed longer
    • Nothing comes to mind, we loved everything.
    • Parking is not easy when it is popular.

Everything went well! OMG, this is the cutest most fabulous place. It was very romantic and we loved being there. We will travel from home in Washington State to visit your inn again. We were out of car charge and alas, you had car chargers. The feel of the place, the sense of history and your staff was excellent.

Nothing comes to mind, we loved everything.

Good staff. Nice breakfast but was not included in the room rate.

Parking is not easy when it is popular.

Excellent location, super cute, great bar. Perfect for the dog.

    Enjoyed facility and staff.

Our room was quite warm, no air conditioning, just open windows and turn on fan. Had to pull blinds to block sun. This was unusually warm day.

Food was superb. Accommodation was spacious, clean and good value.

Room was too warm and duvet too heavy.

2nd stay. We will always come back. Fantastic location, not far away from the ferry. Best breakfast and dinner. All the lovely people who work there made us feel very welcome.

Very dog friendly with lots of great walks, ideal after a long drive and Chunnel crossing. Lovely pub atmosphere in pretty hamlet, with easy parking for the hotel guests. Food was very good.

Food & staff were great, but a long wait for both dinner and breakfast.

Quiet rural location yet still close to all attractions like Leeds Castle & Sissinghurst Castle Gardens.Room was spacious & tucked away with a small garden at the front.Dinner was delicious.Lovely walk up to the castle with views over the Kent countryside.

You can hear the room next door as walls are thin, this is minor.

We are regulars at the Black Horse Inn. It has become our bolt hole for a quick break. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was amazing as always. But the best thing is the atmosphere. It’s very welcoming and relaxing and the whole place seems to be filled with smiling happy faces. For us it’s the perfect place to go to relax.

    There isn’t a thing we’d change.

Fantastic pub great atmosphere and food!! Staff brilliant we had a great stay overnight and would love to return

Only thing rooms a little noisy due to thin walls but not a complaint

The pub has a lively bar and great food for breakfast and dinner. It's was a welcome re-introduction to England after you've been away for a while as we had.

Lovely spotless rooms, exceptional staff and great food

Location beautiful. Dog was very welcome and the staff extremely helpful. Everything I needed for a short stay

Walls a bit thin but only a slight problem as my dog barked when his hyper hearing could hear the odd muffled voice!

    10JeffreyPosted on: 4-14-2025

The location is very easy to find . lovely pub nearby friendly staff clean room comfortable bed food was great nice escape walks near by ideal if you got a dog

Decided to opt for room only rate but had dinner in pub restaurant on first night which was good albeit quite expensive. Room was basic but clean located in block 4 at the bottom of the site. Sleep was disturbed on both nights due to security lights across whole area triggering intermittently from 3am thru’ dawn (blinds not blackout) Reported this to reception on check out and was told they have lots of guests leaving all times of night! Didn’t really seem interested probably as I had paid upfront! £240 for 2 nights poor sleep without breakfast not the best value…

    3MichaelPosted on: 4-8-2025

Liked the owner, and the whole set-up but was charged for 2 in one room and 1in another room where there were only 2 of us booked for 2 single rooms. Admin’ was inflexible re the billing even though there were clearly just the 2 of us and I had booked 2 separate rooms.

Left disappointed at the rigid inflexibility and the unfairness of it.
