Pros +
- Staff friendliness and how accommodating they were throughout our stay. Megan from front desk was very helpful to me for our stay. She went beyond and above to make our stay memorable in every possible way she could.
- Beautiful hotel, great location.
- Really nice staff. Very accommodating.
Cons -
- I thought the bathroom facilities were a bit basic. For £150 a night, I just expected better quality. A very nice, yet basic room and the bathroom especially was very basic and the shower was very poor pressure. And also there was no way of turning the lights off from the bed.I've had a lot better quality for a lot less money!!
- Breakfast was not included. Prices a bit on the high side.
- All the things within the hotel's control were nice. The tap water in the area tastes bad (the hotel provides complementary free water). The pool was way to warm for me but I'm not the target demographic :)

The hotel was spacious, the room was lovely and had a door to one of the courtyards, which felt nice. The pool is lovely for families with small children (not good if you're looking to swim lanes). There's a good gym as well. Staff was really warm and friendly.

Everything was as we expected.
Woken at 0100 ,01,30, 0200.fire alarm went off.All evacuated outside. No staff interaction.left for 35 minutes to stand in cold.Did not see any staff. No head count or roll call.Very poor.Alarm went off ,we went to our room.A letter passed under the door, thanking for cooperation. Othing mentioned at breakfast or reception.A token gesture fir our cooperation from the bill should have been offered.Very Poor.
Easy parking. Room clean and spacious.
Could not adjust temperature in the room, cooler/heater was either on or off.
Nice selection , staff very helpful. Coffee not very nice from machine . Nice coffee will bring folk back ?.
Coffee
I thought the breakfast was far too expensive for what it was so didn’t try it. We went out for breakfast
Unable to book room service breakfast. Apparently, we should have booked it which is not something I’ve experienced before in a hotel, especially given the price.
Spacious room, quiet, clean
Breakfast was poor and took a long time to be restocked. Coffee tasted very watery
We booked this ‘SPA’ Marriott hotel for two nights. The bedroom was a good size. Our room was to the side left of the hotel, overlooking the golf course. It was quiet, very little road noise and very little disturbance from other guests. The bed, a king size, was comfortable. There was a small fridge in the room, a coffee machine with four coffee pods and teabags. Two cans of water. Saturday morning breakfast was organised and a pleasant experience. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choices, however, Sunday morning resembled a school canteen atmosphere. We had to wait for a table for two. The room was extremely crowded, noisy and people complaining having to wait for over 10 minutes for scrambled eggs. The coffee from the machines was undrinkable, it tasted of chemicals. This atmosphere was not conducive of a lazy Sunday morning but a ‘get me out of here’!
The hotel is supposedly a Marriott brand but it was extremely tired and long overdue for an upgrade.I wouldn’t describe the hotel as a spa experience.Asking the main reception where the gym, spa area was, she indicated to her left and said go through the doors which we did. There was a small cardio gym, a shop, then, beauty area to book your treatments. I walked through this area trying to find a way into the pool area. All doors locked so wondered back to the reception to ask. Again told to go the way I came but added I must sign in. I returned the way I came but couldn’t see anyone to sign in so asked in the beauty area to say I had to sign in at the shop but there was no one manning it at that time so she had to go and find someone! After all this which took at least 10 minutes I was extremely disappointed with the facilities. The swimming pool area resembles a children’s pool. The deepest point was 1.2m. The tiles were old, cracked and looked worn. A ‘jacuzzi’ attached to this pool area didn’t even cover your legs if sitting down and came complete with a pathetic bubble in the middle. There was two small steam rooms, one wet, one dry, the wet had ultraviolet blue lights? The Grill restaurant, displaying a ‘happy Easter’ banner on entry still had a winter menu for choice of food. When I asked the waitress why this was, given its spring and the Easter banner she said she didn’t know but her attitude to me asking reflected in her manner which changed completely thereafter and no longer served us another waitress came in her place. The food was disappointing and expensive for what we had. We had a burger with some fries, there was no side salad or garnish with it and a starter which I chose for my main meal, a bottle of red wine, nothing else and that cost 89 pounds! The tennis court is not in use. No money has been spent on this hotel for.If you like golf then this hotel is for you, although you’ll have to be a member to play, it’s not open to hotel guests!
Room and staff were lovely.
We wanted to use the healthclub but the robes in our room were far too small, really for a 10 year old, I couldnt walk through the hotel with the robes offered, ridiculous! Also the slippers in the room were for the same left foot! Too many staff at breakfast not doing anything, rather than ensuring that there is sufficient food, my husband had to wait 10 minutes for eggs because no staff had checked, this is unreasonable and the chef when he brought the cooked eggs out was rude, not apologetic. too many young staff with very little customer service training at breakfast. The older gentleman too needs training on how to be polite. The evening meal staff were better, the lady I think Gemma was the best otherwise very disappointed. This is our second stay in 4 weeks and last time we had no complaints. The menu for evening meal needs more choices very limited if you are vegan or vegetarian. I did report this to the receptionist on our departure and asked for a deduction in our payment, she said she would check with the Manager but nothing !!
The breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Our room was spacious and well equipped. The staff were very polite and helpful
Room was good. Breakfast was very good, one of the best we’ve had at a hotel.
Bathroom in room wasn’t as clean as we would have hoped.
Hotel was nearby a nice bit of greenery which was lovely for a walk. Curtains were blackout which was great for a good nights sleep and slow morning. Nearby a good Indian restaurant and some lovely local pubs if you’re driving. We had tables and chairs outside the garden door which was a nice touch and allowed us to enjoy our morning tea outside in the sun. Room came with access to pool sauna and steam. Complimentary biscuits and water ?
No fridge in room.
Impressed with gym and fitness centre.
Some aspects of room were tired. The spa was filled with children having swimming lessons.
Room was a good size, bed was really comfortable and the reception area looked and smelled really nice! Staff were helpful and friendly.
The pool was very warm but I believe that was because children were having lessons. It would have been good if the sauna was in use or if there was a sign to say it was out of use/order.
Nice food
Heating was banging for over an hour and then when they fixed it sounded like white noise all night
Easy to find. Spacious and modern.
Our room was very cold on arrival. The radiator worked when switched on but would only allow for one setting which made the room too hot. The shower head was faulty so water sprayed everywhere - was reported the next day. Could not watch any streaming channels as internet connection was very poor.
Nothing! This was so bad that we decided to leave after just one night!
Pre booked spa treatments were not available, swimming pool was full of children on a school trip, bar was extremely noisy due to a party, decor was tired and the Food was cold. This is NOT a romantic spa venue at all!
Comfy room, nice pool area
No english wines available by the glass
