Pros +

  • Location good. Room clean. If you only want somewhere cheap to sleep for night with no shower in morning then this fits the bill. Otherwise not for you. Also keep in mind if lone occupant.
  • Close to seafront
  • Passable

Cons -

  • Had to go to another hotel to pick up room key. Sign on door advised on this even though had call day before stay wanting to know what time arriving with no mention of this. Disappointing state of venue after having stayed when was previous named Comfort Hotel. Very tired and bit rundown. Concern on whether to be any actual staffing overnight which believe was a no re safety. Water pressure for shower very low. Window in room had slight gap at bottom so had a draught. On plus when remote control didn't work for TV member of staff at other hotel came over and connected a different handset to TV. Hotel needs work and TLC to bring back to decent status. Sorry won't stay again.
  • Hotel is completely dilapidated close to being uninhabitable. Exposed electrics, dirty, rear car park is overrun by litter and waste with seagulls and rodents scavenging. My deluxe room was in a poor state- window wouldn't close, shower inoperative (there was a bath), bathroom vent too noisy to operate and bedroom furniture beyond serviceable condition for a hotel. One visible member of staff and all enquiries and check in at a different hotel! Most people I met were complaining.
  • No staff receptionist at hotel had to go to another hotel to get room key No TV remote

The staff were all friendly and the bed was super comfy! Thanks to the gentleman that had only just walked through the door to start his shift and helped me straight away! Not sure of his name sorry!

Upon check-in nobody was around to let me into the hotel at 2pm in the afternoon so was stood outside for about 10 minutes before someone arrived to let me in. I booked the double deluxe room 203, I have mixed feelings about the room, the bed was super comfy and spacious and clean! The bathroom though.... I'm not sure how I feel about having a strange mirror cover one side of the bathroom! Felt a little creepy! For the 4 nights I was at the hotel I could only get the shower and taps to a luke warm temperature, I did mention to the team and they looked at it but not sure what they did as it would take about 15 minutes to even get to a temperature I could stand in. The team at the hotel were doing their best so all credit to them but the 24/7 contact number available when the hotel staff werent available seemed useless clueless and really unhelpful. Not sure ill stay again, it's a shame because before the hotel was under new management it used to be a lovely place to stay!

Nothing was liked beds all broken , no staff to speak to . Rooms stunk , as soon as you walk in to the hotel smells of weed. It's more like a hostel then hotel , never again would I stay here

Everything no staff available smelled of weed damp in the rooms beds broken Was more of hostel then hotel housing people who have nowhere to live spoke to few residents who say they live there permanently. Don't recommend at all avoid

Room was massive, had bath as well as shower which was a bonus, needs some tlc but I'd still stay there again for value for money and location!

It was freezing at night but we did have blow heaters to use if needs be and extra blankets not sure if heating was playing up.. we only stayed a night so didn't make an issue of.it!

Poor

The room was cold, the window catch was broken and wouldn’t close properly leaving an inch gap making the room very cold. The heating wasn’t on either.

You get what you paid for so cheep Had x 2 rooms the double was very dated with wall paper coming off the wall and no hot water no tea spoons but there was tea and coffee mattress very old and dipped though the quad room was more updated and mattress was good the only fault with that room was a funny smell the people in that room had a lovely stay

As above

Good location

Was unclean smelt terrible room was in bad condition. Also had people doing drugs round the side of the building.

5ThomasPosted on: 12-7-2024

Nice prices as it was only £115 for 3 nights in a double room. Great location as it's pretty much on the sea front near the bowling pier. The room was spacious enough and a quiet hotel, depending on who's in the room next door.

Beds are like paper. My bum hit the bed base hard as the mattress had no stiffness to it and was really thin. Also, I only weight 12st. The shower was awful. There was no power at all, and I had to stand close to the wall to try and get a splash of water on myself. The TV and mirror needed to be switched around as its only small and nowhere near the bed. The outside looks like it's a bit run down too. Needs a lot of work.

5JohnPosted on: 11-23-2024

Location and staff

Stopping partygoers in one of the rooms being noisy all night

3YatesPosted on: 11-3-2024

Being close to the beach and the amusement and the hippodrome.

The hotel has gone downhill since the last time we visited the restaurant, and the bar was there. We enjoyed having a meal at the restaurant before we went out for the night but know the restaurant and bar has gone.It also needs bringing in to the 21st century and having a good decorating.
