Pros +
- Location is beautiful, staff were top class and overall atmosphere was lovely & relaxing.
- Attention to detail was excellent even a pair of binoculars in the room to look at the view and wildlife. Breakfast was to a very high standard in beautiful surroundings. The grounds were lovely and footpaths well maintained.
- Good service and location but...
Cons -
- We paid a lot of money for the stay so it was a little disappointing to have extras added on to there bill which should have been incorporated into the cost of the stay.
- Bed too soft, so not good sleep
- The Pool House restaurant was disappointing the night we ate there. Service was polite but average overall and the food was variable - great fish but a very ordinary burger & fries. It may be better on a sunny, warm evening but felt rather lacking in atmosphere the evening we visited in September.

An incredibly beautiful location, wonderful service and very comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous! - a wide range to choose from and excellent quality. We stayed in one of the shepherd's huts, located in woodland at the base of the vineyard which was a lovely experience. The huts are super well equipped and comfortable - hardly 'huts' at all! The pool has a stunning view and is great to swim in whatever the weather, or lounge by if it's warm enough!

Great Place. Great location.
Cooked Breakfast a bit small and ordinary for London prices.
The location and the views are absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and decorated with a personal touch – everything just feels perfect.
The restaurant was overpriced and did not meet our expectations. In particular, we found the lack of flexibility from the staff not in line with the standard the hotel aims to represent. Since the pool house was closed due to a private event, we chose to dine at the fine dining restaurant. However, we were charged £398 for a three-course menu for two, which felt extremely overpriced in our opinion.
Great location Beautiful surroundings and excellent staff
Staff. Pool restaurant. Location.
Metal lights near bed. Kept hitting my head. Night light too bright. Michelin restaurant too expensive.
Location
Carpet filthy staff slow and seemed badly trained
Location and overall experience was good. We enjoyed the grounds and the pool area..Would return.
Unfortunately our room was above front entrance and as it was a warm night with the window open the noise of cars arriving on the gravel drive was annoying and kept us awake past midnight. Bottom sheet became loose and noticed there was no mattress protector!
The location is stunning. Beautiful grounds and we loved all the sculptures on display. Relaxing by the pool was very pleasant. Excellent breakfast. Very comfortable room and appreciated the welcome tray
With the warming climate, it may be necessary to instal air conditioning units. The Dyson fan was fine as it wasn’t too hot
The staff went over and above at every encounter, and ensured our stay was a pleasure. Our car broke down just around the corner, and they not only fetched our bags from the boot, but towed the car to the safety of their carpark away from the country road. We had a wonderful breakfast, and lunch at the pool house, which was exceptional.
Brekky was great - location super on the Exe estuary with fab views and garden is very lovely
Location, Views, Wildlife.
Location was fabulous, overlooking the estuary with the rising hills dotted with sheep behind the pool house. As a vegan the breakfast was adequate. The bread wasn't great. Used to sourdough not pre sliced white bread. Tofu scramble would have been nice. The tea was good and there was my preferred plant based milk.
The a la carte vegan menu lacked protein and could have been more filling. I had taken for granted there would be a walk in shower for my 86 year old mum. Shower over a bath is too dangerous for her to use. She was unable to shower in the morning. Luckily my mum could manage the stairs, I'm not sure what we would have done if not?
From the moment of arriving at the Manor we knew we were going to be treated with outstanding service. We were not disappointed. Alex greeted us with a big smile & nothing was too much trouble. Jacob, Salar, Andrew, Artime and the sommelier were looking after us from start to finish. Highlight was meeting Michael Caines who was absolutely charming.Beautiful art installations were a sight to behold in this stunning setting overlooking the Exmouth estuary. also available to purchase
Been trying hard to answer this! Nothing
The staff here are exceptional in their service delivery and approachability. Recruitment and attention to detail here are stellar. Accommodation offers great value for money and the detail in each room is appreciated. Whether you dine as a casual or fine dining guest you feel special. You will be valued even if you pop in for tea as part of a visit to the grounds which roll towards the estuary and punctuated with beautiful sculptures. This is Exeter’s best kept secret oasis. And one I will be a regular patron of.

Robes in suite were too small.
