When we arrived we received a great welcome fromJesse at the reception desk, and once the staff realised how difficult us oldies would find the stairs found us a room on the ground floor and explained that as the building is grade 2 listed,it was not possible to have a lift installed. We remember the old style hotel and were very happy and amazed by the trasformation of the bar ,dining room and the two outdoor seating/eating areas. The food was good with a special discount for people staying at the hotel and here,Louis and the rest of the staff were all excellent efficient and helpful it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. All in all:a lovely visit to a town where we once lived. Thanks to all concerned..

The reasons I was staying here was that I had a sporting function to attend between 9.00am and 8.00pm all days. I could not therefore avail myself of very much of the food at the establishment (two breakfasts, one packaged to take away, and one evening meal on arrival.) However, I picked this hotel because of proximity to station and that worked splendidly.
Breakfast timings. Far more pricey than I would normally find acceptable.

The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. The English breakfast was very good.
It would have been good to be able to have a cereal breakfast, also a chest of drawers in the room.
Good locationBright and clean with plenty of space inside
Limited parking
A great hotel next to the station and a brand new refurbishment. Convenient for station and town. The breakfast was very good.
For the radiator in the bathroom to go off at night, it was on permanently day and night.

Very friendly staff. Pub on ground floor was fantastic. Very good food.
There is nothing what could have done better. The place feels brand new and well thought out.
Very good position good food very friendly staff Clean warm and secure
Convenient location. Lovely old building.
Car parking was not on site. Not the hotel’s fault but the couple in the room next door argued in loud voices all night so sleeping was not easy!
Breakfast and shower excellent.
Blackout blinds or curtains as the sun woke me very early.
Location is perfect and very friendly not far for shopping and airport we loveit
Everything is perfect
Rooms were clean and spacious, food was delicious and the staff were just fantastic. What a lovely stay and we can’t wait to return
Lovely room all looks newly refurbished. Great shower. Easy walk into town.
Parking - staff on check in did not know how the nearest car park worked. You could not pay for 24 hours in advance. Had to go at 8am to top up money. Total cost about £10. Would be could if hotel set up arrangement with council to buy 24 permits to save hassle. At least it’s not far only at end of road.
Breakfast and shower excellent.
