Cons -
- While we chose your establishment expecting a high standard of cleanliness and service consistent with a four-star rating, unfortunately our experience fell well below expectations. Upon arrival in our room, we found the bathroom to be in an unacceptable condition. There was hair left in the shower, the shower itself was visibly dirty, and there were toothpaste marks around the sink area. In addition, the toilet was not flushing properly, and the refrigerator in the room was warm rather than cold, making it unusable for storing food or drinks safely. We reported these issues to the receptionist, who kindly offered us a complimentary bottle of wine, which we did appreciate. However, while the gesture was welcomed, it did not fully address the overall concerns regarding the room’s cleanliness and maintenance. We also encountered problems with the dining experience. Although the food on Friday evening in the restaurant was lovely, our experience on Saturday in the bar area was very disappointing. My husband was served a burger that was raw in the middle, and both of meals were cold. We also noticed other nearby customers complaining about their meals, including frozen fish fingers and more cold food being served. This was extremely concerning from both a quality and food safety perspective. Overall, we found the stay very disappointing, particularly given the hotel’s rating and reputation.
- They need to ensure the breakfast buffet is re-stocked, especially with plates and bowls. Food was taken away promptly at 09.30 with no grace period
- Room was very cold at the start- then I realised what I could use to get the heating up. It was very noisy with hearing the flushing of toilets and showers in my room (160) - luckily not all evening.

Quiet remote pleasant
When I asked for a second towel because one hadn’t been replaced on day two i was told to come and get it from reception :(
mostly all facilities
food coordination in the bar. Sauna not hot at times and closing spa early.
Property was gorgeous… a little let down over the spa vacillates.
The location was beautiful and the choice of restaurants were great.
Bed was comfy and the gym facilities were good
Check in took 40 minutes at 6pm. Only one person on duty to mange over 20 guests booking in. Waited over an hour and a half for a pizza to be made in the bar restaurant and eventually had get a refund and go to bed without eating. Toilet in bed room had faeces marks which were there for the entire duration of my stay (2 nights)
The Manor House was nice and the room was cosy. I liked the separate parking area for the Manor House. Good pillows.
Although the price was not budget, the feel of the stay felt very budget. We could not get a table at Breakfast, it was a free for all, felt unclean and like a cheap festival. Paid for the breakfast which we then couldn’t have. I have an injury and have to wear a leg brace, but no reserved seating. The spa was a bit like Benidorm, pool felt unclean, the facilities crammed. We went in for less than 10 minutes. The hallways on the walk to the spa were filled with piled of dirty plates and used room service piles. If we were not staying in the Manor House away from the main hotel, we would not have been staying at all, I would have found another hotel or gone home.
Is nice locatuon and facilitues
The staff was very slow dekiver service
What a great place to stay for the weekend (valentines). Every staff contact was great, warm and friendly. The pool was excellent and the overall condition and upkeep of the hotel, grounds and spa area we found to be of a better standard that some others who position themselves in the luxury market. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptionally good again the staff being attentive, professional and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away in Winchester.
Not a great deal to be honest.
The room needs a refurb, the floor in the bathroom had a huge burn in tiles. The heating is a heat pump and needs a service. It’s extremely loud and cold without it running. Unable to get a table in the restaurant for dinner too. I get it was Valentine’s Day but £270 for the room is a total rip off. I’ve stayed in better premier inns for half the cost.
Clean and lovely setting
The hotel sprawls over a large area so you can be quite far away from facilities, this isn't a problem for me, but guests who are disabled may want to take it in to consideration. I am sure the hotel would cater for on request as the staff were really helpful.
It is a convenient location, friendly helpful staff and good sized room.
I asked not to be put in an interconnecting room but was initially given one and had to change. The new room lacked some toiletries. On the second day the housekeeping staff didn't give us clean cups or replenish the tea and coffee. They didn't clean the bath and despite taking the used towels didn't leave clean ones so we had one towel between two of us.
Gym, pool, room and electric charging
Food in bar was shocking, as it often is.
The idea of having spa fascilities
The fact they were shut at 19.30 and didn't open will 7.30amThis should be a lot clearer when making a booking, didn't get to use any of the facilities as was away on work. Annoying really, would have booked a travel lodge if I known.
Nice location. Quiet.
Cold room and hairs in the shower. Filter vent in shower was filthy.
Good location. Room acceptable. Leisure area good. Cold buffet Breakfast very good. Hot buffet improved to acceptable after complaint. It shouldn't be necessary to complain to get an acceptable hot buffet, that should be on the Breakfast staffs normal activities not having to get the Manager to sort.
Breakfast on day 1 was abysmal. Arrived to no bacon in trays, 2 dried up fried eggs swimming in fat, Mushrooms dried to almost dehydrated consistency, beans had complete crusty top. Fifteen minutes later after eating cold buffet no change, had to ask for replacements. Staff seem forcibly polite as in not really interested but I've been told to smile. Accessible room 100 yards from Restaurant, impossible for 1 person in wheelchair or mobility Scooter to open some of the doors if they opened towards the user.
The free mini bar and coffee machine
The room smelt of feet or sweaty gym clothes.
Location and facilities swimming pool and gym good dining menu and excellent breakfast
Good facilities and grounds
I arrived at 13.30 followed the convoluted route to the reception and asked if I could check in. No greeting just a response of that will be £25 for early check in. I think that typifies the experience. No real attempt to provide customer service.Soap in my room needed me to point out it needed to be refilled and over heated rooms.
