Pros +
- Huge room, lovely location and atmosphere
- The location is great.
- We were greeted by Bradley and shown to our fabulous room. He, and all the staff were friendly and attentive when necessary, location is a stone’s throw from the Cathedral.
Cons -
- Quite noisy - you can hear everyone in the ba downstairs and also people in the other rooms
- Awkward to navigate to the hotel. Parking a problem. Had to lug luggage a long way.
- The bed was a bit small for us but we knew that going in and would stay there again. It did not affect our enjoyment.

Location: Walkable to numerous venues and sights.Housekeeping service was excellentHospitable management (Bradley)Breakfast was extraordinarily good and plentiful
Upgraded carpeting neededSmelly staircase and a strong mildew odor
Quaint inn near Winchester Cathedral. Walk about town from front door.
No parking ever available as listed. Ugh!
The location was perfect and just steps away from Winchester Cathedral. Room was well appointed and comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and had a wonderful meal. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Enormous room on a perfect location. Great restaurant and pub in facility. Great included breakfast and wonderful staff
Parking wasn’t on facility but very close by
Wonderful place with history and style, great location, delicious food.
Would be better with a double bed + 2 twin beds in the family room (instead of two double beds)
Great location, wonderful staff
Trying to find a spot to park. It is part of the reason why the location is so wonderful and why the staff goes out of their way to help you.
quaint pub, lovely area to have breakfast in, room was quirky and comfortable
we were there on a very hot day and the room was uncomfortablely warm even with a fan and portable air conditioner
Wonderful food, like the duck confit, sea bass and salmon. Great breakfasts including items like traditional English breakfast and avocado toast. We stayed in the annex which was a unique apartment with a kitchen and laundry. It was very pleasant and a nice place to spend time.
It was all perfect.
The OId Vine is a great small and historic little inn with a very nice pub on the ground floor. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The location bordered on the large commons that held the cathedral. In summary, it was the perfect place to stay in Winchester.
What a lovely welcome! We were shown where the parking is and Bradley was lovely and took our bags to our room. We had a couple of dishes of the light bites and they were lovely. The room was lovely, crisp linen, fluffy towels, coffee machine (and tea stuff!), it was clean and well equipped.Because it was central, right in the centre, we were able to pop back with bags very easily. The breakfast was amazing! Hot plate, well cooked produce and lovely friendly service, nothing was too much trouble. The staff here are amazing, really enjoyed our stay here, thanks.
A very small niggle, the TV needs looking at as only 3/4 channels. In fairness when we are away it is only on for the news and not for long. Also in fairness we never mentioned it because I'm sure it would have been sorted if we had.
Everything, this place is gorgeous ? loved it to bits right in the centre of town and short walk to everything ,bonus it included breakfast so nice ?
No complaints would stay again in a ?
Great breakfast. The accommodation was much larger than expected. Great helpful staff
The staff , especially Leo , he was so helpful with the parking and information and couldn’t do enough for us the location was great A perfect find
Room was very spacious, bed comfortable
Staff were a bit indifferent. For example there wasn't much of an effort to show me the room (and the tea facilities were in a cupboard which was not shown to me and I didn't discover until leaving). But my main gripe was the loud music which didn't finish until midnight - my room was just above. I guess I should have expected the worst when the toiletries include earplugs.
The food we had the apartment and it was very nice. The friendliness of all staff would recommend.
Didn’t really bother myself when my wife, but we thought the rooms were just in need of a bit of TLC
It’s exceptional location. The Old Vine is located right on the Cathedral Green, convenient for the High Street and other attractions, a vibrant location. The room was large, en-suite, very clean and comfortable. Double glazing, heavy curtains and shutters ensured it was quiet when needed. Food quality, exceptional. Service exceptional.
Efficient welcoming staff, great room and bathroom, excellent breakfast, very good location.
