We had a lovely relaxing stay for my birthday ? the hotel was very clean and our room was clean and spacious . The spa was immaculate and very relaxed.

Lovely hotel and the location was great .

The window was sealed for safety,but meant there was no access to fresh air.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Lots of seating in reception and lounge for guests. Good breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.

The location was fantastic for a walk into the Centre. The room was nice and bed was comfortable

The breakfast was a bit of lack lustre. There was lots of choice but the English breakfast tea wasn’t pleasant (perhaps because the tea bags were loose?) and the cooked breakfast was warm but not hot

Comfortable hotel, spa was lovely, and buffet breakfast was delicious.

It was a bit of a walk from town - we had good weather and enjoyed the walk, but if rainy, you would have had to get a cab

Funny smell in bathroom like drains.

We really liked the spa, great size and not over crowded very clean and lots of water stations. The relaxation room was a real bonus.

Unfortunatley when we arrived and unpacked I was going to have a shower and there was no cover over the drain in the shower so there was just a big drain hole, I reported it to reception and we went out for a good while and it was not fixed upon our return so we had to pack up and move rooms. I also messaged the Hotel using the the online form provided prior to my visit and had no reply which was disappointing.

The staff were absolutely fantastic. The room was very modern and luxurious with a good sized TV, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. There were even coffee bags which I love. The bathroom was modern and very clean, with ample soap, body wash and toilet rolls. The spa facility and treatments were impressive. The pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and plunge shower were first class. The bar and bar area were fabulous, with plenty of tables, and the decor was very modern and relaxing. Lovely ambience. There was ample car parking available and at a very good price. The location was great. Just a short minute walk from the town center.

One minor criticism is that there could have been more sunbeds around the pool, although there was a good sized lounge area with additional seats and loungers.

Spa had good facilities. Dining especially dinner was really good. Room comfortable. Staff were nice. Parking choices good

Went for Mystery Night dinner, food was very fair, not good value, staff was unhelpful, wine was 30% over priced. The breakfast in the hotel is a joke, no table service

Absolutely stunning property, great location, delicious food and drink, comfortable unique rooms

Check in was simple and efficient. Staff courteous and professional. Room easy to access and very nicely prepared. Alfred's is a real plus for short stay travelers: good food, service is prompt and attentive - we found it a real plus to have everything we were looking for under one roof.

While there is almost always room for improvement, I have no 'nits' to pick on this stay. A very satisfactory experience, value for money is good.

Bed was abit uncomfortable for us.

Had to pay £7.5 extra a day for parking, even though the parking is part of the hotel. The pool was closed for 2 of the 3 days I stayed there. The gym is minimal. You should give guest maps to the hotel, the way the corridors wind every which way is very confusing. It took another guest and myself working together to find our way to breakfast.

It was nice to have the spa to use after a day of exploring the area.

Food service in the restaurant was very slow.

The location of the hotel wasperfect as it was very near the city centre. Hotel was good overall although we would recommend to get the roomsre painted.

The staff and facilities were excellent. The hotel is next door to a public car park where it is possible to stay for 24 hours, as well as having their own smallish carpark behind the hotel.

The breakfast was fine but not as good as the previous hotel at which I had stayed and there seemed to be something wrong with the coffee machine. I mentioned this and was assured that would be looked into

Bar and restaurant were very nice

They wouldn’t give a check in before 2 even when rooms were available which was quite disappointing. It was definitely not a luxury property. Tv wouldn’t work and struggled to get anyone to come up. Has potential bit feel it isn’t managed the best.

Facilities were excellent. Restaurant and bar were very good. Spa and swimming pool were very nice.
