Pros +
- I loved the amenities, the food and the staff were phenomenal.
- The pool is nice, but it was chaos
- The spa and pool were lovely, and worth the extra money. The room was so comfortable and clean, and it wasn’t even one of the renovated ones! Ate in both restaurants for dinner and they were both okay, but breakfast was amazing (especially for gluten free!) Super child friendly too.
Cons -
- There isn’t too much to do location wise
- A couple of staff were friendly. Many were not. The biggest issue is paying £30 for "spa" access to basically have a pool full of unsupervised children. No.attempt made to ask parents to stop their children dive bombing etc. That is not a spa
- The lady on reception couldn’t tell me what time the restaurants opened, which was unhelpful/odd. There is also really poor communication between the front desk and spa desk r.e booking slots for a swim. The dinner food wasn’t great, overpriced for what it is.

Spa facilities were amazing. If you wanna go to the spa and use the pool. The sauna and the steam room. It is amazing over there. Exceptional!
I stayed here for two nights at nearly £200 per night, and unfortunately the experience did not match the price. The staff came across as dismissive rather than welcoming. The phone in our room wasn’t working, and despite reporting it multiple times, it was never fixed. This meant we had to keep walking to reception just to request housekeeping or room service, which is unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. When we asked for basic toiletries, we were told to go buy them from the Lidl across the street instead of being assisted — which felt unprofessional and frankly rude. The food was good, and the facilities themselves were decent, but service is what defines a stay, and that fell far short. If you’re only looking for aesthetics, it might appeal. If you expect proper hospitality for what you pay, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Pool area.Room nice
Breakfast luke warm. Asked for plate to be heated up. That was met with no positive customer service.Room key didnt work initially.
Gorgeous place, lovely spa. A bit packed the first evening but apart from that absolutely lovely. Jecuzzi, swimming, steam room, sauna and fancy shower. Clean and cozy place, comfy beds.
Great service dinner was good, had dinner in the pub on the second night wished we had just stayed for good in the hotel.
The pub was not great, we would not go there again
The location off the motorway was very goodPlenty of Parking spaces
Queuing for over half an hour to get checked inRoom was tired & grubby. Even a broken trouser press in the roomOnly offered an inconvenient time slot for the SpaBuffet breakfast was poor Had an offer on for families, hence chaos with kids at breakfastStruggled with EV charging at hotel, staff disinterestedVery poor value for money
Bed was really comfortable - coffee machine in the room superb and breakfast was excellent. Really enjoyed our stay.
Great to have more decaf coffee pods - I suppose my fault as I could have asked at reception.
Staff was really nice and welcoming, particularly the breakfast team! The hotel is super pretty and well decorated! The room is really spacious and I loved the shampoo and gel set from The White Company, amazing! Beds are so so comfortable, really really good mattresses!!
Spa gets way too crowded super quickly and sunbeds are never available!! Sharing a jacuzzi with 6 people is not comfortable nor relaxing, so it is sitting on bench because there is no sunbeds. Be aware of the prices, we paid £30 for 2 for the weekend spa access but they tried to charge us £140, I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t asked the hotel when I booked via booking.com. Super crowded space! Breakfast food quality was not the best, definitely something going wrong with croissants (they smelled awful) but seemed normal the next day, sausages were delicious and on demand egg special were also decent.
Nice spa facilities
Spa area was very noisy. Even just the sound of the water and jacuzzi reverberated around the area. Hard to relax.
Beautiful hotel, little gifts left for the kids, lovely facilities and comfy bed. Staff really helpful.
The extra cost for use of the leisure facilities wasn’t clear until after I booked. It also wasn’t clear that you had to physically book a spot to go to the pool, despite a phone call to check, and which with children /a relaxing hotel break is not something you want to worry about. I wouldn’t have booked I’d been made aware at time of booking.
Very nice room we had a suite , lovely bed and breakfast was great
Room was next to lift which you could hear through the night
The spa is amazing and felt totally relaxed. The bar staff were lovely and very friendly.
The food in the restaurant is overpriced and not very hot. Breakfast isn't worth the money. The rooms are dated and very dusty with cobwebs in the corners near the wardrobe area. Stated plug sockets next to the bed on our booking but there was not.
Only the SPA
For me and my wife it was a disaster night as it was impossible to sleep well because the mattress was two single mattresses and the joints next to each other would cause gaps between due uncomfortable this matter do not let us to sleep in total 2 houres we had sleep and morning it was very difficult to drive back to London due to no sleep at the night which make me extremely un well and un happy west of time and money
LocationPool Spa Rooms clean Good breakfast Good Evening meal
Rooms and fit out now very tired. Needs investment. Corridor carpets tired and water stained. Visible water leaks. Not enough sun beds / seating round pool.
