    • Location
    • The beds were clean, although one of the rooms wasn't made up, luckily some people were unable to come so we didn't need it. Several of the rooms had poor aesthetics cleaning in the bathrooms,( staining, mold, limescale) one toilet just kept running water, another bathroom smelled of cigarettes, one bathroom floor wet possible leak, a few toilet seats were loose. Sleeping quarters were all fine. The place does look like it is old and needs a refurb but for the price we paid and for what we wanted it was fine. Staff were all excellent. We would definitely use it again for our group as the bathrooms were useable.
    • Cheap, warm and comfortable with really friendly and helpful staff

    Cons -

    • Only one chair in the room small tv
    • Everything was acceptable.
    • Waste bins were not emptied. Crack in the sink.

Bed was comfortable, bedding was clean and fresh. Convenient location close to the Science Centre, and easy to access from the M3.

Window didn’t close properly and it was filthy dirty on the inside. Mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. Hole in the back of the door. Our towel fell apart when using it.

In simple terms days in Winchester was great geographically and very easy to use

When I first entered the room, I noted that I had tea, coffee and milk, but no kettle or mug, I went and asked but had a debate whether they were in the room in the first place, irritating. Again when I got in the room I noted that the room had had better days, I wasn’t expecting five star accommodation for £40. The shower cubicle appeared to have the remnants of glue that it held a nonslip matt in place all over the floor, in general, the bathroom looked as though it needed a good clean. In the morning I took a shower, none of the water went down the plug the shallow cubicle overflowed and flooded onto the floor of the bathroom. When I looked at the plug, it was quite simple water could not leave as it was blocked with dirt, hair and God knows what.

Friendly and helpful front of house.

Uncomfortable bed and pillows. Only one cup provided for two guests. Bathroom didn't look like it had had a thorough clean.

    5RichardPosted on: 2-18-2026

This place is only for people who can accept that at a low price, you get tired decor and rooms that have been cleaned to the most basic degree. Bedding and towels are clean but walls are scuffed, carpet stained and the bathroom needs a deep, deep clean.

The standard of cleaning is poor and the decor is tired.

    7AlexanderPosted on: 2-15-2026

Great for the price fast check in. Big room with a bed for a nights sleep no complaints. For how cheap it was I was expecting a lot worse did the job.

Purely the location and convenience for what we wanted . Toilet was clean , the sink and the sheets

Unfortunately the bed was far to soft and not comfortable but I appreciate that's personal taste . The shower was pretty grim . Unfortunately unable to use it . Didn't find it till late so didn't mention till morning when I did say about it . I appreciate it was a good price but I do still hope for basic clean

Comfortable room, good value for money, and friendly staff. The stay was at a motorway service station on a budget rate, so for the amount spent, it was worth it. The staff made me feel welcome, and there were facilities in reception, including a microwave.

The hotel looked a little bit tired. Unfortunately, the tv reception was particularly poor.

    The woods will be nice...

If the room was free it would be overpriced, the whole building reeked of weed and both rooms I looked at was covered in mould - the bins weren't emptied just a bag put on top of rubbish and the rooms smelled of damp, I didn't stay the night I got out of there as soon as I could.

    3DenisePosted on: 1-30-2026

    very poor not like other...

holes in carpet, wall lights not fixed to wall, lampshades brocken, window latch brocken only 1 seat when its a room for 2, I could not get any hot water.

    3RodaybahPosted on: 1-29-2026

Location and food options on doorstep

The property was filthy and carpet dirty with looks like poo stains and I knew it’s the last room I’ve booked so no other option and I covered it with a towel only for x2 nights

    8MichelePosted on: 1-28-2026

Clean. Good value for money and the staff were very nice

Nothing. It was a typical motorway hotel which was what was needed

    1AimeePosted on: 1-28-2026

The staff were helpful. Because of the issues I had with the room, I cannot fault the staff. They were lovely and helpful.

I booked a family room and one of the beds hadn't been changed, there were hairs on it and food crumbs. Coffee mugs were dirty and had not been cleaned from the previous occupant. There were coffee stains on both mugs. Floor hadn't been hoovered. Massive oil marks on the walls of both the single beds. The bathroom was grim. Hair in the shower, floor not cleaned, and a rollup filter on the floor. Bedside tables had not been wiped down. Then, to make matters even worse, the water was cold when having a shower. I had one in the evening and one before we left the next day, and the water was barely luke warm. Clearly this place is trying to cut costs. It was a horrid place. I get than it's a short stay hotel, but the place is dirty and they don't even provide hot water.
