The Barnstaple Hotel

Convenient due to attending an event at the hotel the following morning.

The staff seemed unable to get control of the large number of children running a mock. Unruly children everywhere with parents drinking in the bar leaving unsupervised children. A good 50-60 children! Staff were annoyed with the children too but seemed scared to tell the children to stop running around!

Room and helpful staff

We liked the way things were organised with 24 hours reception to advise us.

Gym , and bed

Location not in town Air con machine in room freestanding

Fantastic facilities, clean, welcoming, friendly helpful staff, can’t wait to stay again when the weather is nicer!

There was nothing about the place I didn’t like other than the noisy seagulls and they have nothing to do with the hotel!

The staff were fantastic and very helpfullThe room was a good standard and very clean

The pillows were not comfortable. Definitely not to our liking but that's a personal choice.

Very clean, very modern. Staff on the desk were very welcoming and helpful. no issues. would definitely stay here again!

nothing - all good.

The hotel facilities and rooms were lovely, and the breakfast was very good too

The view from our room wasn't very nice, as the hotel location was near / on an industrial estate. The entrance to the hotel wasn't the easiest to get to.

Comfortable rooms, good location

Was not happy that gym not open until 7am, went at 7 and was told a class using all machines so could not use. Was not told about this at check in despite asking at check in.

Staff were friendly and hotel very clean

The exorbitant prices for dining in the hotel especially for breakfast !

Clean and comfortable

Staff not welcoming and pool cold (says it’s heated)

The staff were all very friendly, helpful and polite.

The first room we were given - a ‘superior’ double was dirty, tired and very small. You could barely open the door without hitting the bed. When I informed the reception staff they gave us a beautiful room which was big, clean and what we had hoped for. Breakfast offerings were very limited but enjoyed what we had.

Balcony, easy access

Pubes in the bath. Booked a double, arrived and discovered it was a twin. No staff contactable (as an event was on), to sort it so fixed it myself.

The whole stay was fantastic, quite very good staff Poached egg and haddock was lovely for breakfast, will stay again

Price of cheesecake ha ha !!

Lovely clean very friendly staff good food very good value

The room was spacious, warm and comfortable. My stay was in January, so "warm" was important. The facilities were excellent. The breakfast was freshly prepared and tasty. The service was quick and efficient, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Everything about my stay exceeded my expectations.

Comfortable, clean, good size pool. Excellent breakfast

The staff put a lot of effort into making sure you enjoy your stay Very pleasant atmosphere Good value Great cocktails

Not informed the hotel was...

There was nothing stated on the hotel website or booking.com about my chosen Saturday being a party night. I was only informed via an email on booking.com after my money had been taken that a party was being hosted and there would no food available other than room service between 6-7pm and most of the facilities would be unavailable. I booked last minute so was unable to cancel without losing my money. The party was loud with music filling the building, finishing around midnight with revellers coming and going outside my room until much later. The lack of prior disclosure about the event was highly unfair and other hotels handle this better and give their customers a chance to make an informed decision in the light of the full facts about the stay.

Cozy room and good facilities, nice shower

Noisy at night

Location right near my workConvenience,Pool, saunaAnd biscuits of course :)

Double bed too soft for my liking,
