I arrived late at night and found that my room (family room) was not going to work for my family size, and the receptionist got us into a bigger room. The room was great, clean and the beds were comfortable.

    Helpful staff

No A/C, terrible wifi, outdated even considering low cost

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 3-7-2017

    Location and ease access.

Slightly noisy until the bar closes but does not pose a problem.

    Almost everything

Old hotel that can't overcome paper thin walls. You won't sleep well.

    Near city centre

Good location on High Street, frontage is a picturesque old half-timbered inn. Near lots of restaurants, pubs and shops within a few hundred metres. Car park. Unlike out-of town airport hotels, this one is good for a multiple-night stay. Room was typical international-style double with desk, chair, wifi, TV, ensuite bath/shower.

Building at rear where my room was was fairly unattractive 60s building, though room itself was good. Main downside was there was no room cleaning during stay, nor breakfasts - I believe this is due to COVID precautions.

Great location and one of the members of staff was great

No heating and no hot water

    1TimothyPosted on: 11-29-2021

    just the location

no keycards to get in and out , had to keep asking and waiting for staff to let you in , only one staff on , no heating in room , no change of towels , very dirty , bed as hard as rock and then told it was shutting to paying customers and housing asylum seekers

The gentleman on reception when I arrived.

something was broken so no room key, also no breakfast facility. Run down and worn out.

    3StevePosted on: 11-27-2021

I have stayed at the George Hotel numerous times. The location is fine as my friends and family live in Crawley and it is very central. Normally I have no issues, even with the corona restrictions imposed.

When I arrived on the thursday it was extremely hot in the corridors and room, then during the night it got cold and there was no hot water or heating the remaining almost 4 days of my stay. Had to have ice cold showers and the room was very cold when sleeping. I heard that the day I arrived the main boiler exploded. This has made me a sick with a cold.

Very close to thevoffice I was visiting

Booked for one person but didn't expect an actual single bed. The room was far too warm with no way of making it cooler. I ended up sleeping with the fan on - in the middle of November! The shower was a trickle of like warm water.I won't be returning.

    4CindyPosted on: 11-21-2021

    Was a basic room

No hot water. State of decoration poor

    3ReiraPosted on: 11-19-2021

The location was handy for the event we were working, and it wasn't too expensive

The beds were uncomfortable, it was incredibly noisy, the staff were frequently not present (to the point of one of our groups being stuck outside in the cold for over an hour), the rooms were untidy and the water in one came out a nasty yellow.

This is a perfect location and hotel for my Daughter and I to stay each year when we Christmas shop, the hotel and staff are warm, welcoming and ver accommodating

We prefer the rooms in the main building, although they are in need of updating they are perfectly serviceable
