The Royal Clarence Hotel (on the Seafront)

The owner is friendly, trustworthy and considerable.

The room was clean and everything we needed was there. The bathroom was excellent, clean and the mirror was awesome

All was great so nothing we didn't like.

Nice location on the beach. Lots of places very close to eat and drink. Clean and tidy and good value. Chairs and tables in the room.

I was put in a room unfortunately that allowed other guests to sit outside my window , also opposite me a few guests sat outside their room talking loudly till after 10:30. I had to higher the volume on the television and did not fall asleep till after 23:00. I had a very early start that day travelling from the north for 5 hours , had to go to a meeting at 19:00 in Burnham on sea town centre so was really tired and more than ready for bed. Don't understand why the guests had to sit outside their rooms , especially that late at night ,i also had to travel to Exeter the next morning then travel back home for 5 hours , so unfortunately the stay in the Clarence wasn't very enjoyable

The Royal Clarence Hotel name gives the impression that this is a hotel, it does not have the facilities or the conveniences of a comfortable hotel but it carries a hotel price. We paid far too much for very basic facilities, the bed was too small and not comfortable with very thin bedding. I asked for a blanket which was provided, but there should be extra bedding in the room. The hotel staff make very little effort in their appearances looking generally dishevelled and untidy in t shirts. If they cannot take this seriously as a hotel how can the guests especially at the prices charged. I was told to book direct with them in future for a better price but even a £15 discount would still be too much to pay. I won’t be going back

Very warm welcome considering the time I arrived. The room was clean, warm and had everything I needed.

The shower was a little slow to reach a good temperature but I had been warned so was fine about it.

The location, close to where I wanted to be and also on the seafront.Although there was no catering, it was possible to bring takeaways and eat them at a table on the covered veranda looking out to sea. Wooden cutlery, paper plates and serviettes were available and there was a fridge/freezer for storing fresh foods. An unpretentious place with adequate facilities in clean and good working order.Off road parking

A very convenient position along the seafront and close to shops and sea and pier.. we had a town room which was recently decorated so very clean and airy.

The only thing I can say is the room was chilly but otherwise perfect

Perfect location and close to venue for family birthday party. Well priced room, parking outside. Very clean, loved the fact there were places you could sit out and be comfy. Get a discount at The Ritz social club in drinks with your room key. Very nice temperature in rooms.

Only thing for me was that the bed was very hard for me. Not a big issue as only there a short time and everything else was lovely.

Bath in the bathroom! Central heating, coffee and tea in room, bedding immaculate.

Wifi wasn’t brilliant in room.

No food available so just room but pleasant stay but beware you will need to.like stairs

The walk to the room

It was gorgeous, comfortable, cozy, and within walking distance of all the restaurants, cafe's, and shops. Everything was less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. I will definitely go back and always recommend this hotel as a place to stay. I felt safe, taken care of and comfortable.

There isn't a thing I didn't like.
