Ideally located close to Watford Town Center, and with easy access to the M25 and M1 motorways, the Southern Cross is a friendly local pub with a lively atmosphere. It offers free onsite parking and free Wi-Fi in public areas. Located above a pub. All rooms include a flat-screen digital TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Our double rooms feature a fully private bathroom, while the single rooms include a private in-room shower with access to shared toilet facilities. Traditional hearty pub meals are served in the Southern Cross daily, with a range of great special deals which vary throughout the week. The bar serves a range of beers, wines, and soft drinks. The Southern Cross is an ideal base for exploring London. Watford Junction Tube Station and Watford Junction Railway Station are both just 5 minutes’ walk away. This property is a self-check-in property. You can check in at any time of the day as long as you respect our standard check-in time (3 p.m.). Please note that access to the property involves approximately 20–30 steps, with no step-free alternative. For this reason, the property may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties or young children. Also, we charge £50 for each set of lost keys (security keys may cost more). There may be an additional cost to replace the locks for security purposes. So, please keep your keys safe. There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking on the property. If our team discovers evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g., smoke odor, ash, butts, etc.), we reserve the right to charge a minimum smoking fee of £300. We do not allow parties, large gatherings, loud noises, or outside guests. Should we receive sufficient evidence of such activity, we reserve the right to cancel your stay (without a refund) and may involve a security team to evict you. Any associated cost will be charged to you via your security deposit. Local authorities may also be present (if required).

The room was simple, with good facilities e.g. tv, sink, wardrobe, shower. The food was excellent. The staff were all super friendly and attentive.

Clean, value for money. Staff ate so friendly and attentive. As a women on my own I felt very safe, they even thought about that too and made additional effort to make me feel at ease. Would definitely stay again. Parking is free too.
I arrived late morning well before check just to bag drop due to early footy kick off at Watford. The Manager Steve was very welcoming and managed to allocate me a room, provide the key and I dropped my back in the room. Great service. Breakfast following day was very good and reasonably priced.

Shared toilet was the only thing that wasn’t great but for the price you can’t argue with it.

While the linens were clean the room and accommodation area did have an unpleasant odour to it, this was unsuccessfully masked with diffusers.

Very clean, comfortable. Cozy place. Having a kettle in the room is a huge plus. I stayed at this hotel so that I could take the Shuttle bus to Warner Brother Studio in the morning. (7 minutes walk to the bus)This is a very convenient option. Comfort bed, good towels. Everything was great
